@Ratio_Disputati@FloppingAces@MasonD3 In-person is much better of course. But if some states insist on mail-in then the new tracking system is an improvement.
@Ratio_Disputati@FloppingAces@MasonD3 For instance, a postal worker in the sorting room will only see the ballot after it has been initially scanned, and the system will expect to scan it again leaving the sorting room to whatever the next step is. A failure there is a red flag.
@Ratio_Disputati@FloppingAces@MasonD3 No, that is exactly why the local carrier is the only one that can do it. He can dispose of the ballot after the system thinks it's delivered, and before it comes back into the system. Anyone else is potentially caught by subsequent scans where the system thinks should progress
@JimmyTraina My local urgent care lets you make an appointment on their website so you don't have to sit in the waiting room for an hour or two in the busy times. But it's not three days later like your normal doctor would be.
@Kortirionandon@dcopechatter It is inconceivable that a batch of mail that large would have zero for a major candidate. They mail doesn't arrive sorted by candidate.
@Stevenrutledge@DJSnM He was previously looking for clear skies, and the forecast for those right. Now he's looking for cloudy skies so he can practice IFR, but the forecast gets it wrong more often. (Forecast clouds, reality clear)
@ElectTommyC@kyledcheney "Respondent testified that he fears returning to hiscountry because the Barrio 18 gang was targeting him and threatening him with death because ofhis family' s pupusa2 business" https://t.co/8U5U4OfFr5
@ElectTommyC@kyledcheney That was the whole stated reason he was fighting deportation for a whole year now. His home country, where he has family, was of course the first option.
@MacDavidson1@Glirastes As senator, she had more power than just a planetary head of state. Relative to the Republic, the Naboo queen was like a city mayor. As senator, she actually represented several planets in a sector.
@Ratio_Disputati@FloppingAces@MasonD3 But it does limit which postal employees would be able to do so. If they do it in the middle of the process, it would be detected by the end to end tracking. So basically only your own mail carrier would have opportunity to do it undetected.
@drainiaction@Brick_Suit@HebBetty2022 The incremental results are good transparency. Just dumping a final number next month is not a system we can trust. That's why there's supposed to be poll watchers from all parties to validate the entire process.
@The2ndDrOrgel@extradeadjcb Granted, the "Empire" starts with Palp's proclamation years earlier, but it started as a modification of the Republic, keeping many of the same institutions for a while. The Senate is only dissolved in 0BBY after the destruction of Aldebran.
