Today, I launched The Airline Observer, a newsletter covering the business of airlines. Sign up for news and analysis about how airlines price tickets, how they make money from frequent flyer programs, how they choose what products to sell, and more. https://t.co/pG4qEoTVp9
The Air Show is back! This week, @jonostrower, @BrianSumers, and I talk about the revolutionary war... but also, the brewing Breeze/Avelo/JetBlue/others battle in Connecticut. https://t.co/sIFb9d8czJ
"I have never seen airline executives as angry as they are right now...there's absolutely nothing they can do about it except complain."
The Airline Observer's editor, @BrianSumers, on the aviation industry's ongoing supply chain issues.
Want to understand why American Airlines' Vasu Raja just got canned? This May 2 episode of The Air Show with @briansumers, @crankyflier and I breaks it all down: "...how much patience does Robert Isom have for this strategy? Vasu owns this, right?" https://t.co/Oz4bEsN3Nx
To go along with this deep feature from @theaircurrent, @BrianSumers and made Embraer and its next airplane project the topic of our most recent episode of the The Air Show podcast. Dive in. https://t.co/r9t1iFMZIL

Great analysis via The Airline Observer @BrianSumers: "As for the deal, I like it. Hawaiian has been overmatched, and in an industry in which size and scale mean everything, I’m not sure it had much of an independent future. For too long, nothing has gone right for Hawaiian. Its Asia-Pacific franchise isn't what it was, particularly to Japan, and its inter-island operation is under attack from Southwest. The Hawaii-to-the-mainland operation isn't much better, with the airline seemingly out of new ideas for where to place aircraft. I was not impressed with the three new route additions announced last week — Salt Lake City to Honolulu, and Sacramento to Lihue and Kona. I found myself thinking, is that all they've got?"

@LAflyr More importantly, do you actually see a scenario — one floated in the merger release — that Honolulu becomes a long haul hub? If so, count me in!
