@FloridaTropics1 That is true. The GFS, even though it’s a mainstream model, doesn’t perform well and lags behind the rest of the models. The EURO is really the king of models, though ICON/CMC/UKMET have had their wins. Hurricane models like HWRF and HMON are not bad either

Good analysis. Sept-Oct Gulf Hurricane would be my only concern in an El Niño season like this. I want to say Imelda was in 2023 which was an El Niño. But in terms of Dolly, IF it survives the wall of shear, maybe at best a tropical storm for the Bahamas or FL. And that’s a big IF

@WeatherProf Are we still looking at a transition next summer into La Niña? I know in the past, a strong El Niño usually brings La Niña the following year. And I still think 1998 is a good analog year
