Has anyone created a handbook for undergraduate students in their lab? We want to formalize the process when a new student joins and include things like procedures that are safe to do independently, expectations for presentations, etc.
@FromPhDtoLife I used to say it was my dream but I would evaluate if it was realistic when the time came. Even if it were realistic for me, seeing how my boss has to spend his time made me realize how different the reality of the job is.
@ambeedinfo I started ordering stuff from Ambeed a couple years ago and now so much of my stuff is Ambeed. My coworker would flip out if you sent chocolate, but sticky notes or pens would 100% be used
@ndchiappini@MoleculesGoHard Itโs really annoying but the best luck Iโve had is to go to the authorโs website and some of them post pdf links that arenโt behind a paywall. Usually main text only unfortunately
@lxeagle17 Iโm a progressive/leftist from Pa. I voted for Fetterman in the primaries in 2018 (Lt Gov) and โ22. Iโve always viewed him as the most agreeable candidate that could win in a general, but not the most left-leaning candidate we couldโve nominated.
@heydebigale We had to memorize it for my undergrad inorganic course, but we learned it one group at a time. Doing it by group makes it a lot easier imo
@NancySBWilliams Seeing you and so many other out and proud scientists was/is so impactful and helped me show the world my authentic self. As each year passes, I hope the visibility of LGBTQ+ scientists continues increasing and inspiring the next generation
@SchelterGroup@IAlabugin Would you venture as far as including pi dimers? Bonding is just so complex, hard to make a correct rule without several exceptions
