I think about Voyager 1 a lot more often than one would think is normal. That sucker is the definition of isolation. It's amazing people made something that has defied so many odds. Keep going, Voyager! Wish we could see what you see!

Voyager 1 is 24 billion kilometers from Earth.

It communicates with us using a 23-watt transmitter.
Less than a refrigerator light bulb.

The signal takes 22 hours to reach us, traveling at the speed of light.

By the time it arrives, it's 20 billion times weaker than the power of a digital watch battery.

NASA's Deep Space Network picks it up using 70-meter dish antennas cooled to near absolute zero to reduce electronic noise.

The engineering required to hear a 23-watt signal from 24 billion km away is arguably more impressive than the spacecraft itself.

Launched 1977.
Still transmitting.
Still being heard.

My patience for other people's dogs is zero. If I'm inconvenienced or disrupted by someone's dog for even one second, it's unacceptable. Your dog should just not ever be my problem. But children are human beings. They are the next generation. We need them to exist and be participants in society or else human society goes extinct. Therefore the baseline patience we have for kids, even when they're slightly disruptive, should be INFINITELY higher than our baseline patience for dogs. And yet a lot of people, because they're retarded and selfish and worship their pets, have this exactly reversed.

This lady is driving down a stretch of road on St. Louis St. in Springfield, Missouri.

She is driving exactly 30
Mph and as she does so the rumble strips create the melody of “America The Beautiful”. This just opened up recently.

The song was chosen as a tribute to America’s open road, the spirit of Route 66 and the upcoming celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary. ❤️🇺🇸

I think that is too cool. Love when towns and cities are patriotic. 💯
