The gardens in front of our office have won a Green Flag Award, recognising them as one of the country’s best parks! It's open to all and a great green space to wander around on a warm sunny day like today. Congratulations to the awesome gardening team! https://t.co/lEADw3lefn
📢Job alert!

Very humbled, and happy, to have just accepted a 2 year lectureship at @GeogBristol, as Lecturer (Level C) in Earth System Modelling. It's only part-time, but for the rest of my time I have some equally exciting research grant news that I'm not yet allowed to share - more soon!
If you're in Vienna this afternoon, or if (like me) you are attending @EuroGeosciences#EGU2022 virtually, please come along to my talk on African hydroclimate during the early Eocene. This afternoon, 1420 hrs BST (1520 CET), talk number EGU22-1468!
Now we just have to continue to write it all up!! Thanks to all the BBC producers (@TetZoo, @annebates9 to name but a few) and researchers along the way. Its been magic!🦖🦕

I also want to say that it has been humbling to let science tell the story in #PrehistoricPlanet. Cannot stress this enough, the questions asked/story lines proposed by the @bbcstudios team really pushed boundaries generating new exciting scientific discoveries for us as well 3/n
To finally see the first two espisodes in their complete form was an out of this world experience. Hopefully this will inspire the next generation of paleontologists and paleo scientists like Walking with Dinosaurs did for me. 2/n
Awesome time at the Bristol BBC #PrehistoricPlanet premiere. @BristolUni Alex Farnsworth, Paul Valdes and @OpenUniversity Bob Spicer caught up with the fantastic @bbcstudios & @AppleTV team we worked with for over 3 yrs. Still surreal to see your name in the credits!🦖

Only 6⃣ days left and coutning untill Prehistoric Planet! 🦕🦖😍 All I can currently say is.....you won't be dissapointed 😉😉😉
Time to re-write their story.

🚨My latest paper, "African hydroclimate during the early Eocene from the DeepMIP simulations", has now been published in Paleoceanography & Paleoclimatology and is available at https://t.co/doYnhh0Ums! Please have a read and RT!🚨
Awesome new paper on African hydrology in the Eocene by @charliejrwill . Part of the #DeepMIP special issue in @AGU_Paleo . Love this figure which shows the effect of inverting paleorotations to better interpret the proxy data.

🚨New paper alert. Delighted to say that latest paper, "Past terrestrial hydroclimate sensitivity controlled by Earth System Feedbacks", led by Ran Feng & involving many co-authors including yours truly, has today been accepted by Nature Communications. Link to follow...🚨
🚨New paper alert! Delighted to say that latest paper, "Linking Equatorial African precipitation to Kelvin wave processes in the CP4-Africa...", led by my PhD student Godwin Ayesiga, has today been accepted by the Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences.🚨 #Africa#rainfall#climate
A great way to understand Earth's atmosphere is by testing our theories on other planets. One of the most exciting papers I've ever written, published today: Polar Vortices in Planetary Atmospheres - it also has the coolest figure I've ever made👇https://t.co/GNMGnAPJ7y 1/4
