In the news, a(nother) cyclist hit by a truck. Fortunately, only minor injuries - unlike April 17, when Lauryn was killed by a truck at Clark and 11th. So unfair. So senseless. Her death was preventable.
@Ayachuco1@claddaghvale@AndreaWoo It includes the leader. I'm not sure why people try to pretend it's fake news. If you want the examples, they're quite easy to find. Clearly a bad faith actor here. Also, trying to make an equivalency between diplomatic relations and governing together... bizarre.
@modacitylife While I'm among those who don't cycle due to disability, I know people who are cyclists BECAUSE of disability, ex. people with epilepsy who can't drive. A disabled friend loved the freedom her ebike gave her. (Sadly, she was hit by a truck and killed earlier this year.)
@Tybernicus17@privacylawyer What a bizarre comment. Who exactly do you think he's shilling for? This isn't the first newspaper that's axed him as the newspaper went farther right. It would be profitable for him to support the interests of media owners, not to lose the job.
In this year of high-stakes elections, the choice facing British Columbian voters on October 19 boils down to a familiar binary: acknowledge reality or embrace denial.

“There was a time when I believed that here, in my home of British Columbia, I could live my truth without fear. The past two weeks have shattered that belief.
“The weight of this realization wears on me, and I pen this lament with profound sorrow.”

I and other @thetyee colleagues have previously been denied asking a question at John Rustad press conference and it happened again today - I was the only reporter who came in-person who was not allowed a question #bcpoli#journalism
So I guess it’s official 🙃
“New home construction is 40 per cent higher under the NDP than it was under the previous B.C. Liberal government, in which Conservative Leader John Rustad served from 2005 onward.”
@AnnieForTruth Not really the point, but in the interest of not spreading misinformation:
Success rate for vasectomy reversal is 60-95%, depending on factors such as how long it's been since the vasectomy. The surgery takes 2-4 hours.
Chip’s new sign doesn’t explain who’s paying more (Chip) and who’s getting money (not Chip).
John Rustad would cut taxes for the top 2%, just like before.
I’ll cut yours instead - with $1,000 for 90% of families.
And I will never apologize for asking billionaires to chip in.
