Both 'young onset' dementia and 'early onset' #dementia are terms that can be used to describe when a person experiences dementia symptoms before the age of 65.

So, why do we say ‘young onset’? 🤔

'Early onset' can also refer to the early stages of dementia. As someone can experience the early stages at any age, this term may cause confusion.

Whereas, ‘young onset’ is clearer, indicating the person developed dementia at a younger age.
