This was Hon. Miria Matembe pleading with the Magistrate to allow her to go for treatment for her back. "At least Amin used to shoot you, po! But this kind of breaking......." She said.
For context, this senior citizen was one of the eminent Ugandans who traversed this country seeking views on the 1995 Constitution! As I saw her crying out, I couldn't help but imagine what was going on in her mind. Mulimba mutufuze bubi nnyo!

Cases of Poisoning high members of society mostly around key institutions of government have continued to gain popularity in recent times - and sadly most victims end up with severe health consequences while others die.
While covering news at parliament as a Journalist some few years ago, my colleagues warned me about eating food at the canteen as people have died mysteriously - Reason, Poison.
Sadly, even cabinet members are not safe. Some of them move with their own water and food just to avoid eating food prepared in places they converged, for cabinet meetings. What’s even more shocking is they are not doing anything to avert this situation.
BREAKING NEWS: Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad, also known as "Mr. Update," the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, has been pronounced dead. #NTVNews
More details to follow
CLARIFICATION: According to the doctors, Hon. Ssegirinya MUHAMMAD is brain dead, most of his organs have shut down but he is not yet declared dead. When the mother was told that, she immediately announced his passing. Our teams are on ground monitoring the situation, as we all PRAY FOR A MIRACLE.
Now it will rain RIP, even from those who incarcerated him for years without any clear crime and denied him quick access to treatment when he cried out; plus those that ridiculed him saying he was ‘acting’ as he fought for his life! His poor mother wept at Parliament, pleading for his bread winner son. But life went on - all she was given was money, not justice. Such is what it has become; and many more of us may have to die - as we continue to senselessly turn against each other as humans. How many more should die before we realise that all we are looking for in this short life is happiness, and that we can still be happy without making another suffer or cry! We shall surely wish Hon. Ssegirinya’s soul to rest in peace, but what peace for such a death!
