Lover of porch swings, live music, genuine community, red Sour Patch Kids, Jesus, traveling & dogs. Oh, and I've quit Diet Coke more times than I care to admit.
After publishing (I think!) my last story for the year, I want to say this has been one of my favorite years of my career.
I started it fired from my job, covered the Legislature then landed in a supportive & aggressive newsroom. I've learned a lot this year. Thanks for reading.
@court2the_enay @busytoddler123 has all the best ideas. If you’re really adventurous, make cups of water and food coloring to paint the snow in the bin. 🎨
Dear Southern Baptists, don’t buy into the narrative that says that care for the abused, the immigrant, and for racial equality is “liberalism” or “leftism.” It’s faithful followers of Jesus trying to take the inerrant Word of God seriously and live it out in real life.
"Silent Saturday" is a powerful reminder that just because God "appears" silent or absent doesn't mean that God isn't at work and in control.

Grace isn't rational. It's nonsensical. May we be both comforted and disrupted by the love and grace of Christ.
You guys. Through some miracle, there are a few tickets left to tonight’s @MountainStage with @Stephen_Kellogg, @mattnathanson and more. Don’t screw this up. Go. Go. Go. https://t.co/CntD90JP0Y
I’m getting married tmrw in a redwood grove, at the age of 65, to a tall handsome writer @NealFAllen—good sense of humor, is smarter than I am, can fix anything, and cook. So never ever give up, no matter how things look or how long they take. Don’t quit before the miracle. Deal?
When we give up something as a spiritual practice, replace it with something beautiful and life giving. Removing weeds without planting something only produces more weeds later. #MiniLentenDevotional
A temptation of our culture is the need to debate and comment on every single event. Sometimes, wisdom is evident in silence. Sometimes, silence is necessary for sanity. It’s okay. Let someone else win the internet.
