Renmore and ATU Brite parking zones now deleted due to another bike written off due to mindless attack and vandalism. We are very close to having to close the whole system down due to ongoing vandalism problems. We need more bike racks. #besafebebrite#galwaycycling

@breathingfire11@AccessForAll7 Deleting the spot is the only answer. We have offered to pay for proper bike parking, segregated parking areas with information and signage but we have not been given the approval. So we have today removed 10 bike parking zones to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
@SusanTheSilent@Dub324 @FHmediastuff @dublinbikes2go@BleeperActive We do not get any support from the local council, there is no parking infrastructure to lock the bikes to, the only solution is delete the parking zone and add a no park zone here.
@FHmediastuff We can only delete the station which we have done and we have added a no go zone. Until we get support from the council to put in parking infrastructure there is nothing we can do.
@ccferrie Ciaran I don’t know why you insist on sending us these messages on Twitter - we are not regular twitter users - here is my number if you have a problem call me 0879113409 Colin
@ccferrie We have deleted the parking zone in this area and any parking area where there is a chance of bikes being dragged by local youths into a footpath. This will halve the number of parking zones now available. We get zero support from local council on parking infrastructure.
@breathingfire11 No because we have mostly youths fro the area dragging and kicking bikes around the place. We get no support from the local council about cycling parking infrastructure so nothing we can do. We have deleted the parking zone.
