๐ซ๐ต๐ธ๐งIts bitterly cold and the rain has returned with an intensity set to cause so much suffering here in ๐ฟ๐ต๐ธ#Gaza, my dear friends. I'm so relieved to tell you that my cousin Mo and I were able to help repair all the tents in our camp and help them set up new tarpaulin and sheets before the rain started again. I hope this will be enough to keep the rain from pouring into their tents, my friends, but it's hard to know because the weather is fierce in Gaza. When it rains it pours for days at a time, and the storms are fierce. It's bitterly cold especially at night - in fact it's so cold that the ends of my fingers tingle even when I'm sat in my own home, so I can't imagine how cold the people in tents must be. Children and babies are dying from the cold, my friends, it's a situation dire beyond belief. I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can travel to the markets to buy mattresses and blankets. This is for our cruelty free camp and also for our poor cats who are helpless to the bitter cold in our shelter, my friends. We have a covering over the shelter to keep the wind out but the temperatures are dropping more every day, and they need more help to stay warm. I'll buy as much as I possibly can to help as many people and animals to stay warm. It would mean a lot for your help with this, my friends. Your generous support has already helped a great deal to prepare for this storm, and we can continue to help even more with your support. ๐๐ซThanks to your kindness for us and all life in ๐ต๐ธ๐ฟ๐#Gaza, the cat shelter is now ready to receive and give a home to any cat who needs it. It's a positive time for my family and friends who have all helped with this great achievement, and I feel very proud to see the building restored. Before the war took it away, helping the cats was my passion and pride, and seeing so many of these innocent creatures killed or die in front of me completely devastated me, in a way I can't even describe. I will never forget the love and trust those sweet animals gave to us before they left, and I hope to help just as many cats and other animals going forward. I hope that you will help me, my friends. I ask not for me, but for these poor voiceless animals who have lived through hell, through no fault of their own. Unfortunately I'm not feeling well today, my friends, I think I am suffering with a virus, so I can't do as much as I'd like to. At any moment, a cat could find us, and we will help them immediately. I'm sorry that I did not write to you before, my friends, I was not feeling well but I am better now. I wrote to you before about our cruelty free campโบ๏ธ๐, and their need for new tents to replace their old ones that no longer protect them from the harsh weather๐ฅบโ๏ธ. I must stress to you the urgency with this as they face colder and more severe winter storms as temperatures continue to drop further.๐ I know what its like to live in such horrible and hopeless conditions and it's so important to do everything possible to improve their situation. Similarly, it's very important to help the starving cats๐ and dogs๐ off the streets so they survive this terrible winter, and I hope you will assist me so that I can buy their food. ๐ซโฅ๏ธMy friends, thank you for your beautiful words and well wishes for me, I am feeling better today than I was yesterday although I still have pain in my teeth that remains. It was such a happy moment for me to have completed our shelter finally, with the tarpaulin up to protect from the cold and the roof and building secured to make it safe. We still need some finishing touches, things the cats will need like medicine and warm blankets and wood to build huts for them to sleep in. I would be so grateful for your help, my friends. I know I repeat myself a lot, but these poor innocent animals have no one there for them, and they've been through hell and deserve a nice life now. Many of the cats we hope to help from the streets have lived as beloved household pets for all their lives, and they won't do well in the cold by themselves. Some of these poor cats will have had their homes and their owners taken away by the war, leaving them with no home or love anymore, and it breaks my heart to see them all out there near my home. This is why I ask for your help to help them, my dear friends. Of course, I can't write to you without reminding you of all the poor families who are living miserable conditions in the cold, their lives made so difficult this winter. We are currently raising the funds to buy our cruelty free camp the replacement tents necessary so they are not exposed to the cold and rain. We are doing all we can for the people and animals in our area. The number of dogs is increasing here every day, and Hisham can't take care of them alone. I will be helping Hisham daily by feeding the dogs and giving them the necessary medicine and antibiotics.
Perhaps you have seen the rains and winds that have flooded and tormented us. With winter approaching, the cold will become dangerous. These dogs need food and blankets to keep them warm, as we lack the resources to build a shelter for them.
We will do everything we can to help these dogs who cling to us; we see it in their eyes. Caring for these innocent creatures is our duty. Compassion should be shown to all living beings, human or animal. ๐ ๐ฅบ โค๏ธ๐ฉน ๐ซ ๐พ ๐
I hope the mediators succeed in reaching an agreement to enter the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. ๐
We are praying that negotiations will allow food into Gaza and the flow of people out of the broken areas of the strip. The crossing will be opened in the second phase. I hope we can be evacuatedโme, my family, and my friends.
We don't trust the permanence of any agreement at all. It will be crucial to work on getting out of here so we can forget what we witnessed in this cruel war, a war that has given us terrifying nightmares that haunt us. ๐๐ข

๐ซ๐My friends, you are so kind, your words and care for me yesterday truly touched my heart, and brought warmth to my soul when I feel like I am losing myself to grief and sadness.. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I hope that you will help me to build our shelter as soon as possible, so that we can protect the poor vulnerable animals from the difficult weather conditions and danger on the streets that leaves them at risk. I can barely recognise my surroundings when I walk around our neighbourhood, rubble and debris as far as you can see, and people struggling to rebuild their lives from what little they have. Unfortunately donations are still weak, I am left powerless to do anything, neither for my cat shelter or for the poor people in tents. Our current donations are barely supporting the families we send financial aid to, and I worry about them should we run out of funds. The families in the camp have barely recovered from the last storm that hit them, and I'm worried about the upcoming days of weather. I feel like I am struggling with grief and sadness as I try to navigate our lives, but everything feels so difficult and hopeless that it is hard to be strong. I must be strong for my children, but I feel cracks in my heart that hurt me all the way through. I'm sad and hopeless at the poor animals who are living through misery and discomfort, and feeling unable to provide them a suitable home. I miss the older days when I could shelter over a hundred animals, and they were the lightness in my heart and my soul, my friends. ๐จโ๏ธ๐ฅบ๐I have been unable to post tweets for a while because the screen of my phone was damaged enough that it had become completely unusable. ๐ฅ I finally managed to have it repaired, at an exorbitant price, ten times what it was before October 7th. ๐๐คณI have been using the phones of others, but itโs good to have a way to directly connect with the world outside of this war.
๐ฐ๐๐ฅบWe are still living in a state of madness regarding many matters. We are still controlled by monopolistic merchants who coordinate with criminal gangs to ensure these goods only enter for them. They have the only available supplies of food and medicine and we are their captives.
๐ซ๐ขWe are still subject to great adversity. The weather has been brutal. There is flooding, brutal winds and painful cold. There is still hunger and danger all around. Our wish is to escape this tragic madness.
We are eagerly awaiting the opening of the crossing so we can leave and live in safety and peace without conflict.
