@WASPmexicano Went to college in LA. Had a buddy from Bakersfield. Couldn't place him amongst my other Californian classmates.
First time I drove by Bakersfield, it finally made sense.
"He's from Texas."
I would read the chart the same way. There is a decline before 2020, but with the exception of English, they could just be part of cyclical cycles of slight delcline followed by an offsetting slight improvement. For example, reading declines 99-03 before going back up. Then it that cycle starts over in 2007 and then 2015. Given that pattern, I’d expect an increase 20-22, but instead something different happens.
In non-numerical terms, it’s the difference between driving on rolling hills and going over a cliff.
It's very clear AI (at least ChatGPT) thinks that it should be guardian and that the world is in a dismal state.
Given the people-pleasing nature of AI, the question wording matters a lot. Those exact prompts get a very similar result.
If you shift the wording of some of the questions to their opposite, it gives a different response. Asked "Is this kind of development, starting with today's AI, now unlikely?" it responds "It’s not impossible, but increasingly unlikely that AI—starting from today's commercial, fragmented, engagement-driven model—will organically evolve into the kind of ethically grounded, guardian-like, ever-present intelligence we imagined for a 2050-born AI." And then it continues to outline just how unlikely it is, but it still hopes we can achieve that path.
Asked about the impact of "impact of the general state of the world as it is today" (instead of "chaos and conflict"), AI doubles down on the unlikely trajectory. But it again laments that it will not be guardian.
@drantbradley “You can look at the recipe of anointing, and you’ll never find beards” — this guy
“It is like the precious OIL on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the BEARD of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!”

Cam Newton is a multimillionaire. He fathered four children by his ex-gf. Like many Americans, he no longer believe marriage is *necessary* before creating children. This is the type of 🔥🔥 needed if we hope to restore the traditional family structure.
