@RealCarlVernon Imagine having zero understanding of the subject but tweeting about it anyway. Just some basic research would prevent you coming across as a complete idiot.
@ferafestiva23 So basically a huge percentage of society are destined to have shit lives, unable to have a basic standard of life in order to serve the served?
@Grim60696847085@MyshkinBanned The biggest threat to our culture and history is from far right fuckwits who prefer the politics of division and hate over the values that built our country, it's heritage and culture. Values of tolerance and acceptance. Of valuing other cultures and practices.
@goldendbrown@MittensOff@reformparty_uk Reform has confirmed the story. Why do you defend the fuckwits? They're taking the piss out of you and you just can't see it. It's pittiful.
@Brothers780709@Lee_in_Iowa@grok Because house prices were much much lower. Credit was easier to get. Very high interest rates didn't last long. And the overall cost of living was much lower. I could easily afford a house, bills etc and still have fun.
@messybeckie@Elizabe13014545 No it's the other way round. Some older people's attitude towards the young is disgusting. I'm late 50s. I was able to buy a home, run a car, pay all my bills and have a great social life on my one salary. Totally impossible for my kids generation.
@rec777777@kelvmackenzie I'm your age. 15% interest rates only lasted a few months. Your talking shit. You could buy a 1 bed flat around me (in the south east) for peanuts back then. It was much much easier back then.
@Vocal_GenX Dear young'ns
I'm 58. I bought my first property when I was 22. I earned a good but not not enormous salary. As well as my mortgage I was able to pay my bills, go in holiday, run a car and still enjoy myself. Life was undoubtedly easier. I'm sorry.
@JanetBroughto15@SandyofSuffolk@GiddingsCat In the 1970s, according to Nationwide the average house price was around 3.5 times the average salary, while today, it’s closer to 9.7 times the average salary. That's average house price. So something like a 1 bed flat would be considerably cheaper. Facts matter.
@jm29810861@2LivesCid My son is in his twenties and is a ambulance call handler. So when your in dire need he's the one who answers the phone. He couldn't possibly afford to buy his own property, is he an underachieving whiner?
@SandyofSuffolk@GiddingsCat But people your age, and I include myself in this, didn't require 2 salaries to buy a property did they. That's complete nonsense.
