Would Abraham have done what God asked if he had no Faith that God was Faithful? Abraham had Faith that God was true and what he did was by Faith in God, which was counted as righteousness

@Curi_Christian The Bible doesn't lay out, explicitly, when or why it happened that the Universe or all of creation groans, but it lays out that it does.

We are pretty sure of the when and why though right?

Hypothetical:

I am deserted on an island and a Bible somehow washes ashore.
I read it and I believe it.
I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart "Jesus is Lord".

Am I saved? - why or why not?
What denomination am I? - Does it matter?

@Mormonger @23wjohnston IF, it is by Grace, that you are able to progress, then he is correct in that you need someone to give the Grace, which would be God
IF God was as you are and didn't need Grace, which comes from God, then neither do you. IF this, Jesus isn't the only way and you don't need Him

@farmingandJesus He has it backwards. How were all things or even as JWs put it, all other things, created? If those things were created through Jesus, the heavens and earth were not created alone in the sense this guy is trying to say.

It breaks down his idea not the Trinity

@theThinkInst Gal 1 - I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel
2 Cor 11 - if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus..., or if you receive a different spirit..., or accept a different gospel...

@AnneOfTheBooks I thought I loved God, but it wasn't until my mind was involved that I was able to come to know and love Him.

I don't know if that makes sense but it's my short story

@AnneOfTheBooks but once I looked into things and put scripture together as a whole and not just to defend specific beliefs, I was convinced that a "classical Christianity" is true.
I think most people need to remember that Loving God requires your heart, soul, mind & strength...
