Massive thanks to @OceanFmIreland & @OceanNWT for covering our story this morning as their main story.
Great to get a platform to speak out on behalf of the parents and children for our local area.
The aftermath within the rural area of West Fermanagh after Minister's Weir announcement last Monday to approve closure of St Marys. This appalling decision made in the middle of a worldwide pandemic adding to the mental health & well-being issues

🏫 ST MARY'S BROLLAGH 🏫
I've spent the last couple of days listening to parents & others about the disappointing decision from Peter Weir.
Parents & the community are continuing to fight for their local school & I'll continue to stand with them.
his morning a representative from the Parents Council met with Janis Scallon, Director of Sustainable Schools Policy & Planning & Eamonn Broderick, Sustainable Schools Policy & Planning Directorate from the Dept. of Education NI.
Well done to @brollagh for their hard work & it's great to see another extension to the consultation
If you haven't objected to the proposal to close St Mary's get in touch & I'll help you out with your objection

@FermanaghMatte1 @iamdylanquinn@rodneyedwards@Ferm_Herald@impartialrep You will also notice that majority of not all these schools are currently CCMS schools that are looking to move to Integrated.
Since 2008 CCMS has attempted to close us on 4 occasions. Not once have they ever offer a positive alternative to threat of closure!
Great protest this afternoon at Townhall Enniskillen from the parents action group. Councillors from FODC met with CCMS representatives. Message was loud and clear, POST PRIMARY EDUCATION MUST BE RETAINED IN WEST FERMANAGH!! @rodneyedwards@Ferm_Herald@impartialrep
