@Jonathan_Elk Haven’t seen any protests over Bejing’s war on Islam. The Financial Times published a visual investigation in 2023 - it is mind blowing.

@Minorityr3p0rt@JCColtin An increase in taxes could result in a net loss for NYC. Norway lost 448M in tax revenue in 2023 when it raised the wealth & dividend taxes - the super wealthy just moved to Switzerland. New Yorkers don’t have to apply for Swiss citizenship they can just fly to Miami.
@Tom_Rowsell Hope this means a video is in the works! If you have time for more site visits - I really enjoyed visiting Altamira cave in Cantabria a few years ago.
Tipping in Andalucía is not expected and at most you just round up to the next Euro. If you tip more than that the waiters will think you’re either a fool or you’re hitting on them. I forgot this when I went back a few years ago and got of the plane jet lagged and tipped the taxi driver a few euros - my Spanish friends laughed at me and said ‘what are you doing that’s an insane tip’.
That is very normal for the region. You have to go to really high end restaurants to get the kind of service you are accustomed to.
I lived in Andalucía 18 years ago it was EXACTLY the same even in the non tourist neighborhoods.
If you frequent a spot and try to talk to the staff they will greet you when you come in, crack jokes and give you a hard time (this means you are accepted and they like you).
When you save these dogs - have you found that many ‘owners’ just chain up a new dog in their place? How does the cycle of cruelty stop? I saw many dogs chained up in rural Spain when hiking the Camino de Santiago. They were being used to protect junk yards and construction yards behind barb wire fences. They weren’t starving or physically sick but what a cruel torture for them to be alone and chained up their whole lives. I been thinking of going back and trying to negotiate with the owners to give them up but I have zero doubts they will ask for money and then just chain up another dog when I leave.
Have you ever run a real business in this country that contributed something other than clickbait to our society? I mean honestly an illegal cutting meat is doing more for America than a ‘knowledge worker’ grinding out dopamine hits for screen addicted Americans you’re basically a dope dealer. I’m not a Democrat - I’m a realist who has worked in agriculture. Get all criminals out or those on the dole and close the borders. But don’t pretend Americans have unlimited grocery budgets - it’s easily to talk shit when you aren’t living paycheck to paycheck. This almost drives me as crazy as the left's luxury beliefs. Just like it’s the affluent liberals saying defund the police while living in safe apartment building with security guards - you’re saying inflate the shit out of food prices cause you aren’t the poor American that won’t be able to afford groceries anymore.
