I've been paying attention to this for years and i'm convinced now that modern architecture is hostile on purpose. walk into any office building built after 1970 and pay attention to what happens to your breathing. the ceilings are exactly low enough to make you feel compressed but not so low that you'd complain. the lighting is exactly wrong enough to make everyone look slightly sick. whoever designed these spaces understood something about human psychology that they are using against you. now walk into a cathedral built in the 1200s and notice that your chest opens involuntarily. someone eight hundred years ago knew which proportions make the human spirit expand and they built it into stone. it is the most serious engineering that has ever existed and we replaced it with whatever the fuck is happening in every downtown on earth right now
I wanted a thousand things in my life, and most of them i didn't get. and i looked at myself the way this post is asking me to, and thought i wasn't smart enough. but years passed, and i started seeing what each of those things would have done to me if i had gotten them, and every single one would have destroyed me - some fast and some slow. everything i didn't get turned out to be the smartest thing that happened to me, but it was not my smartness. it was something else deciding on my behalf, because i was not smart enough to decide for myself. sometimes not getting what you want is the only proof that something out there loves you more than you were ever capable of loving yourself
“Why don’t you just eat fucking ramen everyday? Just eat peanut butter and ramen for 50 years dumbass and invest all your money into the pico top of the gayest most fragile empire in history you dumbass idiot. Just starve and eat shit and dirt everyday for your entire life and then you can spend $30 on lunch when you’re old and about to die it’s simple. Don’t you know your 20’s are for grinding?? You’re supposed to eat shit for the majority of your life that’s why your ancestors built America. So you could eat shit and fucking die moron.”
eating out anywhere that’s not fine dining or farm to table has become a humiliation ritual

I have made it very clear that I no longer support Trump and I’m very thankful to him for making it clear that I have nothing to do with him. The new Trump is a rotting husk of the old Trump.
I hope 47 enjoys Mark Levine being his spirit animal..
He is risen.
Not “He had risen.”
Not “He was risen.”
He *is* risen.
Present tense.
He is here with you and with me.
His sacrifice is eternal. He is our salvation. He is Lord.
Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Easter.
nobody taking it out of context cept you king. Youre feeling the psychological and spiritual weight of an unstoppable meat grinder (that youre paying for, partially) and in this honest vulnerable moment your friend is using language deliberately designed to make you look crazy
