POLITICAL PRISONER VIII
Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro @AMufumbiro is the Deputy Spokesperson for @NUP_Ug and probably the most vocal person in the NUP.
He was MP candidate for Nakawa East in the just concluded 2026 elections,he was nominated while on remand and lost the election where many people indicated that he had been rigged out.
On Monday, September,8th 2025 Waiswa who had been a target for a long time was violently grabbed by the armed men wearing civilian clothes while others wore a military, just outside Kawempe Magistrates Court, later charged with UNLAWFUL DRILLING,conspiracy to commit a felony, and incitement to violence.
Even when the wife Edith Katende Mufumbiro(RIP) lost her battle to cancer,Waiswa was denied a temporary release to pay his last respects to her.
Another day, and no accountability for Muwanga Kivumbi. Atleast for the 6 months we knew he was in Kitalya on known chargers, but now we don’t even know where he slept.
Where is Hon Muwanga Kivumbi
Today marks 37 years since the horrifying Mukura massacre in Kumi district.
On July 11, 1989, 69 people were suffocated to death when NRA (now UPDF) soldiers crammed them into a goods train wagon before setting it on fire.
They were suspected of being rebel collaborators against the NRA regime.
Trapped in the crowded wagon, they struggled to breathe, and when they were finally released after more than four hours, 69 of them had suffocated to death, while 47 survived.
In 2001, President Museveni apologized for the incident.
🇧🇪❤️ Het heeft niet mogen zijn, maar jullie hebben tot het einde gestreden. We zijn bijzonder trots op jullie prachtige parcours, @BelRedDevils !
De toekomst is aan jullie! 🇧🇪
Just when you think it can’t get worse, the Ugandan government surprises you!
Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi was released on bail just yesterday, after 169 days on remand. A few minutes ago, he was abducted again by the SFC on his way to Kampala.
We the youth of Uganda will have to get ourselves out of this mess by continuing to fight this bullying in every way we can.
It is Hon. Muwanga’s resilience and love for his country that has kept him going, and I am sure he is not about to break. Let us not let him down!
Aluta continua!
