@TopDownHockey For a player who has never posted a positive +/- or scored over 23 points ever in their career. Your fucking delusional & it’s very obvious how many fucking ‘armchair gms’ don’t know a damn thing about hockey on this platform. Sharks fan base are a bunch of never happy pissants
@NathanGraviteh Nurse is 2-3x better than Ferraro. And that’s not even debatable. Come on now. Stop romanticizing a player like Ferraro. The guy has never posted a positive +/-… has never posted more than 23 points in a season. not like he’s been a bench guy. He’s played 56+ games every year
@tyson_cole I absolutely love that everyone assumes they are just stuck with these players/contracts for the full term. What do you think players 2-3 years younger than them of comparable pedigree will command on the open market in 3-4 years when the cap is 20-25M higher?
@ejmichele Both nurse and Trouba are going to be pressure tested. Perform well and earn your contract of be traded in 2 years/demoted to 3rd pair. We have plenty of cap space. Ppl acting like they would rather we do nothing and spend another year with the worst blue line for half the AAV
@FowleBall15 We had the worst blue line in the league and added two proven veterans. It’s better and anyone saying it isn’t is using stupid bias and sticker shock to cloud their judgement
@SlovakShark No team is retaining that kind of salary on a deal. Could have tried for 10% maybe. But we don’t know the behind the scenes. Maybe one of the teams in the east had a slightly lesser player on the board but also we absorbing full deal
@ProducerDrew_ So we’re comparing two assets who are signed for the next 4+ years to one of comparable value signed for next 4 years and one of the top 3 d men in the league who is on the final yr of his deal and about to sign the largest contract for a d man in history north of $15M AAV 😂 🤡
@JamesonN10 Sounds like type of fan who would be screaming at the top of his lungs if Grier was doing nothing that we are ‘wasting our young corps rookie deals’. No decent vet is signing a 1-2 year deal at the 30-32 year mark in their career. They want market value 4-5 year sunset deals
@Kneckt Exactly. In 3 years both of these guys will either have to maintain their current level of play or even slightly improve or they will be traded. Cap will be 20-25M higher in 3 years and players of similar caliber who are 2-3 years younger will be getting 3-4M more AAV
@SummoningSports Need to think about what those caliber of players will be paid in 3 years when the cap is 25-30M higher. These vets will become attractive trade pieces at that time when the same type of player who is 2-3 years younger get is drawing $9-12M AAV on the open market
@2MINIHULK I don’t get the hate on trouba and nurse. Both are way better than what we had and are on rental contracts. Cap number for them doesn’t matter because cap is increasing each year and we get $24M back to play with next year. Neither of these players will be her 3 years from now
@IceMetrix Blue jackets want nhl talent in return not picks or prospects so sharks won’t be able to swing it. But take Dickinson out of the above offer and replace him with Bystedt and sure as a sharks fan I’d be happy. Gotta see what Dickinson has to offer before trading him
