I just watched the booster of flight 13 on land attempt and it seems like the lack of air prevented 3/4 of the engines to start up. Maybe the shroud/shields required with raptor 2s induced or created a pocket of air with defined boundary layer. It seems like the boundary layer is not established without a shroud and engines do not ignite.
have you ever thought that maybe they are fooling us all. If they wanted to they could plan an aborted flight just in spite of the haters. That would be pretty savage and I think Elon has a sense of humor so its not out of the realm of possibility. They had drone footage of flight 12 that they did not even release until 2 weeks ago.
@LunarCitizens I'm sure they have a good reason for using so many tiles. @grok why do they use so many tiles instead of making larger sections of heat shielding?
@dpoddolphinpro@Supermokerolj They also shut 1 engine down to land on a single engine per your footage. Hence maybe it was planned. Not a rocket scientist but you definitely are not either.
