Don’t ever shy away from a conversation, you may miss someone truly unique and remarkable. At Breakout I got to meet a living legend: John Fucking Caldwell. That is the guy with the hat in the picture below. We met on Monday evening at Breakout, and today we got to Go to his winery and had an amazing experience: 4 hours of wine and Bittensor. We spend so much time between agents and AI that we forget that what makes us humans and unique are the people we meet and we share our experiences with. Go Humans!

"The people who built this. The people who build these subnets. The people who contribute this compute. They’re all going to be in one room. I have to go."
Awesome recap of an incredible weekend full of incredible people for Breakout in SF.
Don't miss us bigger and better at Exploit in September. Tickets on sale this Friday 👇
The countdown is on.
Breakout brought the community together in one room. With Exploit, @bt_commons brings the full ecosystem to Montréal - builders, researchers, investors, and everyone shaping Bittensor's next chapter.
Early bird tickets go live next Friday, April 10th.
Vibes were high at Breakout.
Was a pleasure to shill $TAO and @resilabsai alongside these great builders.
The future for TAO is tremendous!
Special thanks to @SiliconJose and team for making it happen.
Had a great time at the @bt_commons Bittensor Breakout in SF.
Big thanks to @SiliconJose@admiralagrippa and the team for putting it together. Always fun to explore the city and connect IRL with the Bittensor community peeps.
Next one hosted by commons: @ExploitSummit in Montreal this September. 🇨🇦
If you’re on the fence about attending a Bittensor event, have some conviction and just book it. Worth it every time.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and spoke up, and made this day what it was.
This was the first Breakout. It won't be the last.
See you at Exploit - Sept 28-29 in Montréal! https://t.co/UvBSt5ImKL
That's a wrap! Yesterday, over 100 people from the Bittensor community came together for Breakout in San Francisco.
We set out to answer two questions: How does Bittensor break out into the world? How do we help people break in?
Here's what we learned 👇
But what we really learned, we already knew.
That the Bittensor community is what makes this protocol special.
Builders sharing what's working (and what's not). Newcomers asking the hard questions. Everyone willing to have open, honest conversations in the same room.
That's what made Breakout work. That's what makes Bittensor work ⛏️
Breakout in SF has been super bullish. Very optimistic about $TAO... haven't felt this way since the early days of Bitcoin and Solana.
Thinking about writing a longer form post on my thoughts and discoveries so far, who's interested?
Quick Summary of Bittensor Commons "Breakout" Event (March 30, 2026, San Francisco)
Breakout was a sold-out, focused one-day working session hosted by the Bittensor Commons Foundation. It wasn't a flashy conference but a practical, high-signal gathering centered on two core questions:
🔸️For builders inside Bittensor: How do we break out?
🔹️For outsiders: How do we break in?
It featured panels, presentations, open discussions, and networking rather than keynotes. Topics included subnet launches, go-to-market strategies, technical/structural gaps, product-market fit, onboarding friction, scaling decentralized AI, and real-world utility. The event aimed to connect builders, miners, subnet operators, researchers, investors, and newcomers to drive momentum in the ecosystem.
Highlights from the Day:
• Announcements & Demos: Targon OS revealed live by @TargonCompute ; @BeyondNISQ / @qBitTensorLabs unveiled relaunch plans for subnet63 (Enigma/quantum-focused) on stage to key ecosystem figures.
• Presentations: Talks by mogmachine (on ecosystem views and an article), panel with Evan Malanga, Mark Jeffrey, Old_Samster, macrozack, and Doug Sillars on successful subnet launches; contributions from SiliconJose, @yanez__ai , and others.
• Vibe: Attendees described it as energetic, collaborative, and productive with strong networking, familiar faces, and optimism around $TAO and decentralized AI growth. It built on recent ecosystem wins like large-scale decentralized model training (e.g., Covenant-72B).
Overall, it was viewed as a success, a targeted, actionable meetup that strengthened community ties and clarified next steps for Bittensor’s expansion. It’s the first in a planned series of Breakout events, complementing their larger Exploit Summit.
Positive recaps continue circulating on X from @bt_commons and participants, highlighting momentum in subnets, incentives, and adoption. @opentensor
LIVE FROM BREAKOUT: @BeyondNISQ unveils new plans for the relaunch of #SN63 to some of the biggest names in the Bittensor ecosystem.
If you aren't already in the know, now would be a good time to start paying attention...
