It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Books Through Bars MA will no longer be in operation. Both co-founders are moving out of state and will be unable to serve the book-needs of our incarcerated MA comrades.
Letters sent to our PO Box will be forwarded to one of us at our new address and we will inform the sender of this news.
If you live in MA and would like to pursue a book program, please let us know and we would be happy to share our insight, contacts, and resources!

Letter from prisoner: "Thank you for the help/hope you do for us by providing books. Reading/learning is something they can't lock away. I would like to request a dictionary & a book on how to draw please, manga, fantasy, landscapes. I am an artist who wants to learn and grow."
We’ve received a letter from our comrade and Black Liberation Army political prisoner Joseph “Joe-Joe” Bowen, aka The Old Man. To put it plainly, he needs our help. https://t.co/q9FJJoFzIS
