The work highlights the relevance that both citizens and state governments assign to digital recognition & how digital devices now offer instruments for non-state actors to engage in diplomatic practices, thus conducting lobbying and advocacy recognition campaigns.
The article "The Politics of Digital Recognition of States", co-authored with Shpend Kursani is on its way and it will be published in @IAJournal_CH in January.
Of particular note, the article analyses how digital country lists, maps and borders that we see on our screens every day, have become venues where state sovereignty is consistently claimed and contested, and bargained.
