Today, we have resumed our PDM assessment tour. After visiting Busoga last week, we are now in the Lango sub-region. Maama Janet and I visited Jowel Okello in Amolatar District. Jowel began with family land and has since expanded to over 300 heads of cattle, as well as goats, sheep, pigs, and a variety of crops.
I am happy with Jowel's hard work and thank Gen Muheesi for inspiring him. Jowel exemplifies the spirit of NRM youth, and it's easy to support someone so self-motivated. I urge local leaders to guide others in effectively using their land to get out of poverty because not everyone can rely on fishing.
With the EU alone consuming over 60% of Uganda’s coffee, UCDA has helped to maintain rigorous standards and secured Uganda's place in the international market.
