100% agree that the in-store treasure hunt makes it less brand dilutive. It’s similar to the dynamic in retail categories with actively enforced MSRP too #retailindustry#brickandmortar https://t.co/9wmtZgtzr8
I was doing work in my lounge & noticed something very strange.
Across the room, a guy was playing chess & talking to someone across the board.
I couldn't see them & I couldn't hear them.
My confusion turned to intrigue, so I stood up & walked up to the man.
Sitting across from man was not 1, but 2 children.
A young boy aged 5.
And a young girl aged 6.
The kids were chess players & the man was their coach.
He told me that they had been memorizing game strategy & patterns for over a year(!)
This experience left me with 2 thoughts:
1) They would 100% beat me in chess if we played head to head right now.
2) When I was 5 I was pumped when I didn't drool on myself or poop my pants.
Kids are built differently these days.
A business does $800,000,000 in sales per year.
- It’s 111 years old
- It only sells product 6-8 weeks per year
- It sells 200 million units per year
- It has 1 million “sales reps”
What’s the business?

Lovely Vuori store - first three pictures. Compare this to a recent shot of Vuori in Nordstrom - final picture. Where would you rather buy product from? Department stores are their own worst enemy!
