The Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) has announced a countrywide protest against the closure of the Quetta Press Club by the #Balochistan government, calling it an attack on press freedom.

The tireless efforts of @bujofficial have borne fruit.
CM @PakSarfrazbugti has laid the foundation stone of the Journalists Housing Scheme in #Quetta, turning a dream into a reality. #BUJ deeply appreciates the CM’s commitment and hopes the project will be completed on time.
Indian authorities must urgently ensure the safety of @washingtonpost Post columnist Rana Ayyub and her family, following multiple threats she reportedly received from an individual who knew her home address.

Balochistan Union of Journalists strongly condemns the arrest of senior journalist @khalidjamilkj from his residence in #Islamabad. Using #PECA laws to silence critical voices is unacceptable. We demand his immediate release and respect for press freedom.

BUJ condemns Israel’s killing of Al Jazeera’s Anas Al-Sharif & Mohamed Qreiqeh in a press tent at Al-Shifa Hospital. We stand with all journalists risking their lives to tell the truth.
#PressFreedom#Gaza#BUJ
In #Balochistan, journalism survives on courage alone — under constant threats, pressure, and economic strangulation. Each silenced story deepens the blackout, and with it, Pakistan’s truth fades away.

The @bujofficial condemns the travel ban on journalist @AsadAToor and his placement on the PNIL without due process. Such actions undermine press freedom & reflect a worrying trend of curbing independent voices, contributing to Pakistan’s decline in global press freedom rankings.
🚨🚨
In personal announcement, I was travelling from #Islamabad international airport for Washington to attend 12 day @StateDept IVLP program proposed by @usembislamabad but barred from traveling by immigration authorities, stated my name is on the PNIL. I repeatedly asked the reason of adding my name on the PNIL but officials had no answer. Journalism and speaking truth to the power is made an offence in #Pakistan, yes I committed it and will keep repeating this crime. Stopping a journalist is another feather in the cap of this “hybrid” regime, under whom Pakistan fell 6 points from 152 to 158th position in world press freedom index.
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) strongly condemns the FIA's notice to journalist @Akbar_Notezai. "We demand its immediate withdrawal and urge the #FIA to stop misusing cybercrime laws to intimidate journalists" PFUJ.

Our concern is with the systemic misuse of legal provisions affecting press freedom, not with any specific government office. Our stance is principled:
Press freedom must be protected, regardless of the complainant. https://t.co/rTNfUv6W3E
Yet, the core issue is the use of state mechanisms to summon a journalist over a public-interest report. Regardless of the complainant, such actions risk undermining press freedom and must follow due process.
The @bujofficial strongly condemns the notice issued by NCCIA to journalist Akbar Notezai in response to his investigative report.
#BUJ terms it a grave violation of Article 19 of the Constitution, warning against the misuse of cyber laws to intimidate journalists.

🔴 I strongly condemn the brutal assault on journalist Yaseen Baloch by #Quetta Police.
Journalists in #Balochistan operate under severe and persistent threats.
This incident reflects the shrinking space for free and safe journalism in Balochistan.
I urge authorities to ensure justice and hold those responsible accountable without delay.
