I struggle to understand public officials who proudly celebrate sending their children abroad while the schools they oversee are collapsing.
It's not about whether they can afford it. They have every right to spend their money however they choose.
It's about emotional intelligence and leadership.
Publicly celebrating your escape from a system you are responsible for fixing sends the wrong message to millions of families who have no such option.
The goal of public service shouldn't be to build an exit plan for your own children.
It should be to build a country where every parent's child has access to an education so good that leaving becomes a choice, not a necessity.
That's the standard we should demand.
"As a governor and as an individual, you can't speak for everybody."
Governor Alex Otti says Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State can only express his personal support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election and cannot speak on behalf of other South East governors or the people of the region.
The aircraft landed safely but skidded off the runway due to the adverse weather conditions.
From my flying experience, this is Brazilian made aircraft called EMBRAER 170 , manufactured in 2001 (25yrs ago) . 170 is a very small and light jet .
Even such rainy conditions, it’s not ideal to fly sign small aircraft.
Only French AIRBUS A models and BOEING aircraft can handle such rainy conditions.
But ofcourse, these aircraft are very expensive even for a used units
Almost other airlines in the world has stopped using the 170 and upgraded to newly 175 model .
Enugu airline is very stupid for gambling with people’s lives.
One of the reasons I share almost everything we're doing in the South East is simple:
I want you to copy it.
If a strategy gets more children learning, gets more students excited about STEM, raises academic standards, or inspires excellence, don't admire it from afar or criticize Alex. Replicate it in your region. Improve it. Scale it.
Africa has spent too much time protecting ideas instead of spreading what works.
I don't want the South East to be the exception. I want it to become the template for Africa civilization.
Imagine every region in Nigeria building its own Olympiads, ranking schools, training teachers, identifying talent, and making education a public movement.
Imagine every African country adapting the same ideas to fit their own realities.
That's how continents change.
Education is Africa's greatest opportunity. If something works, copy it.
Earlier today, I met with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Dr Richard Montgomery. We had a thoughtful discussion on the state of our democracy, the economy, the importance of strengthening our institutions, and the need to ensure that our elections remain free, fair, credible, and truly reflective of the will of the Nigerian people.
As Dr Montgomery prepares to conclude his diplomatic assignment in Nigeria next month, I thanked him for his service and for the role he has played in strengthening the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His time in Nigeria has been marked by constructive engagement and support for our democratic and economic development.
I wished him well as he prepares for his next assignment and thanked him for the friendship and cooperation he has extended to Nigeria throughout his tenure. I look forward to seeing the strong relationship between our two countries continue to grow.

Why the voter registration exercise should be extended.
As we continue to encourage Nigerians to participate actively in our democracy, I respectfully appeal to INEC to consider extending the voter registration window to the latest practical date that still allows adequate time for the preparation of a credible voters’ register before the 2027 general elections.
Every day, more young Nigerians attain the age of 18 and become constitutionally eligible to vote. They are not just our future; they are stakeholders in our present. It would be unfortunate if many of them were denied the opportunity to exercise their civic responsibility simply because the registration process closed long before the elections.
Moreover, this position is legally supported by the High Court judgment delivered on 22 November 2022 in Anaja Salmat & 3 Others v. INEC (Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1342/2022). In that decision, the Federal High Court held that voter registration should continue until 90 days before a general election to protect the constitutional voting rights of eligible Nigerians.
I appreciate the enormous responsibility placed on INEC to deliver free, fair, and credible elections. I also recognise the need for sufficient time to clean the register and make the necessary logistical preparations. However, our electoral process should, as much as possible, maximise participation rather than limit it.
A democracy is strengthened when every eligible citizen has the opportunity to be heard. I therefore urge INEC to adopt a registration timeline that protects the integrity of the process while ensuring that no eligible Nigerian, especially our young people, is unnecessarily disenfranchised. -PO
Seyi Tinubu took his two children to the World Cup, where VIP tickets cost $34,500 each. That is a total of $103,000, or 142 million Naira.
It would take an average minimum wage earner 170 years to make that amount of money.
Good morning Rufai. Trust you had a good night rest. Two days ago my cousin with 4 others were kidnapped on their way to the farm on agwa road in Imo Owerri west Imo state. By suspected Fulani men. Much Ado about Kwankwanso Interview
Sometimes you guys should try and maintain some rigor in thinking. If you believe in zoning and say “Let the south finish its term and power should go back to the north in 2031”. What does that mean? It means that any southerner coming to the presidency will only serve for one term.
This man has been saying he will do one term only to keep faith with zoning, which is a critical element of Nigeria’s political stability. He is now doing what he promised and you are crying blue murder.
Before Peter Obi came out what stopped selfless Igbos from running for presidency? What? It is now you guys realize you have not been president for 100 yrs and must do 8 years?
Why cannot your great Igbo leaders like Emeka Ihedioha, Otti, Osita, Abaribe etc not run for presidency and do 8 yrs? Why are you lot begrudging Peter Obi for respecting the zoning arrangement?
He said he believes in zoning. Zoning requires that the north takes back power in 2031. If 4 years is too short for you, then come out and run for presidency and do 8 years.
Your Nigerian passport is ranked on the same level as with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (a nation recovering from decades of active war) and Turkmenistan (one of the world's most closed dictatorships).

Remi Tinubu went to Abia and was talking about Fabric Manufacturing plants for women not Akara and Kuli Kuli.
Thank you Nigerians.

You earn N1, spend N10
You earn N10, spend N100
You earn N100, spend N1,000
You earn N1,000 spend N10,000
You earn N10,000, spend N100,000
You earn N100,000 spend N1,000,000
The problem is not revenue; it's the spending
Let's be clear, there is nothing wrong with debt, deficits, or borrowing; the question is what are you borrowing for?
Currently, Nigeria is borrowing to repay debt, then salaries, then infrastructure. In that order
That is the problem
If Nigeria today were borrowing $100 trillion to build a power plant in every LGA, then connect each LGA via a 10-lane expressway with rail, with modern schools and hospitals, not one will complain
But you will argue

This year's competition will now include both Mathematics and Science (optional), with a single registration covering both.
Our winners will represent the country at the International STEM Olympiad in Lisbon, Portugal, and the Singapore Maths Olympiad Finals in Singapore in 2027.
Following the competition, we will also rank the educational performance of the South Eastern states based on the average assessment results.
The entire South East is building remarkable academic momentum, and it is inspiring to watch.
We will broadcast the competition live on Afia TV, and I will also try to secure a live broadcast on Arise News.
It is now the biggest academic competition on the continent.
Remember, participation is completely free and is open to any child who lives in or attends school in the South East.
A country with no budget implemention for complete 3 years, but some educated mórons want you to believe that it's REFORM.
As bad as Buhari, he wasn't this terribly bad.
