@plasticboss This is such a hard point for me because I can save in a HSA and pay out of pocket.
I think the middle option of catastrophic health insurance and HSA for standard care would be most cost effective.
I need to quit sitting on my hands and make a decision.

IRS common law rules determine if they should be classified as a W2 or 1099, and there are penalties for employers who Miss classify employees. Many employers and employees work in that gray zone & I’m not a tax pro 🤷‍♂️

Let the guy go on his own and if he don’t cut it, he should be more valuable with business experience. If he is an A+ machinist he could be worth paying to keep around, other than that, fly free and see the world lil birdie

@SMBMoneyMike You are cutting into their profit margins if you offer any kind of service for market rates. Can’t blame them they are trying to make the most money.
I just prefer the businesses that want to share the love with their sub contractors.
