@DixieForeverRJ Never have a bunch of losers found a way to win so hard as the Confederates, especially in a conflict of good v. evil, where they were clearly evil.
@zovarynx You don't lend family or friends money (and hopefully they don't ask) if it's not incredibly high risk. So - you don't do it with the expectation of getting it back. You can certainly hope, but you can't be mad if it doesn't happen.
@CXCarroll@mdburnell@Asteronaunt@Mpolymer I mean, you see how well the tariffs are working out. Try increasing the cost of everything imported into or exported out of the US by 300%.
@JoyPullmann I grew up in a rural area with houses so far apart you couldn't trick or treat. My dad used to drive me to other people's neighborhoods so I could get out and have the experience.
@CXCarroll@mdburnell@Asteronaunt@Mpolymer The real issue is compliance with US labor law, CG requirements, etc. makes operating a ship about 3X more expensive under a US flag than say, Panama or Liberia. Can't fix that.
@CXCarroll@mdburnell@Asteronaunt@Mpolymer There are only about 80-90 US-flagged cargo ships of all types operating internationally. For some commodities, like grain, there are only a handful (4). 98% of US shipping trade is carried on foreign-flagged vessels.
