@WarInstitute This is a fascinating read as a civilian. I wonder how this might translate to the modern work environment. While the stakes are of course lower, I imagine team cohesion has similarly eroded with the rise of remote work and other work technologies.
@RichFGeorgia Finally a reasonable Catholic take hits my feed! It makes me sick to see the degree of vile and opportunistic behavior perpetuated on X in the “name” of our faith.
Not at all surprised to see that you are an ND guy! Cheers Rich!
@JamesSurowiecki Totally agree and was just making this point the other day. As a Dad I can’t stand scary/graphic trailers coming on during sporting events. You can’t always react fast enough to change the channel or distract. I remember as a little kid getting really scared by some of these.
@AlexHormozi Not sure I agree with this. I can understand this thinking with casual friends or peer groups. But true friendships stand the test of time, endure through changes in life and hardship. These are the people you know you can always count on, and they should never be discarded.
@HowBoutNo_Shush@BarstoolIrish I’m not happy about skipping the bowl. But it’s honestly a lose-lose for both ND and BYU. ND wins they will say BYU wasn’t good. BYU wins they will just say well ND wasn’t good. Both BYU and ND deserve a shot at SEC teams like Vandy and Texas to prove themselves!
@DanWetzel Could ND instead invite UT, BYU, and Vandy into a 4 team NIT type playoff. This actually could mean something and would be good football for the fans.
@PopeFelonious@BarstoolIrish Not JV, at least two of those teams should’ve been in rather than the two G5 charity handouts that were allowed in the tourney.
@iel46405@BarstoolIrish Yeah I wish they would. But even if we beat BYU handily critics would just say well I guess BYU isn’t good. It’s a no win for ND. Potentially a no win for BYU too for the same reason. Both of us deserve to be matched with SEC teams to prove ourselves to the sec biased media.
@Shellback_Sea@ForeverFightON@BarstoolIrish Fair point! I’m guessing AD let it be coach freeman’s decision but time will tell.
I personally thought FSU got screwed then! Didn’t they file a lawsuit ?
@DuckInAPen@Moneyline___@BarstoolIrish Except we have no idea how good BYU actually is because they haven’t beaten anyone of note. Same argument could be made for ND. This 4 team idea is a great opportunity for both BYU and ND to prove themselves.
