For many seniors, the hardest part of technology isn’t learning a new app.
It’s the feeling of having to ask someone else every time they need to use one.
Mahima Bhalotia saw this up close with her own mother and aunts. So, in 2020, she began teaching them.
That small effort became The Social Paathshala, which has now helped 10,000+ senior citizens across India and abroad learn smartphones, WhatsApp, digital payments, online safety, DigiYatra, Google tools and AI.
But the most telling stories aren’t about the technology.
They’re about what seniors started doing with it.
At 80, Maya Maker went from depending on neighbours for help with online services to using AI on WhatsApp to plan a six-day Karnataka trip for a visiting professor.
Others learnt to navigate airports, identify birds, plan holidays and handle everyday tasks on their own.
And that is perhaps what Mahima has really been teaching.
Not technology.
Possibility.

70% of Indians don’t get enough fibre.
We talk about protein all the time, but fibre is the nutrient we often forget. And unlike protein, fibre doesn’t come from animal foods like chicken, fish, paneer, or milk. Fibre comes only from plant foods.
Fibre helps with digestion, keeps you fuller for longer, and can help manage blood sugar spikes.
So I created this Fibre Board as a simple reminder to add fibre-rich foods to your diet and consume 25-30g of fibre every day.
Share this video and help me spread the Fibre Board Movement to every school, college, and office in India.

I have been pursuing this Political and Business Bucanneer for the past 15 years over a case of open and shut fraud
As telecom minister Maran, the bucanneer, installing a 1000 line secret Telephone exchange case in his home in the name of the Regional Manager of BSNL unknown to the system was a famous expose by me in the New Indian Express in 2010
He was using it for uplinking Sun TV progs and benefitting hundreds of crores. The secret phones were also national security breach as they could make any call to anyone without being monitored. At that time the DMK was in love relation with the biggest national security risk the LTTE
But the buccaneer with his money political power and media power delayed a case which could he completed in months by a decade
This is the 7th time the buccaneer telecom minister went to the supreme court to quash and/or delay the CBI probe into the fraud exposed in 2010
The case was investigated in 2007 by an honest inspector of CBI who used to go by scooter from Beasant Nagar to Shastry Bhavan in Chennai. He risked his life and asked for permission to file FIR.
But the UPA govt of which the DMK was a constituent prevented the CBI from registering FIR
I had to file a writ in Supreme court in 2014 to direct the CBI to file FIR
The buccaneer went to the High coourt and then to Supreme Court and almost got the case quashed with the then Attorney General almost colluding with them
The AG who had given opinion to govt that the secret phones were in breach of national security conceded in the court contrary to it
I had to write a scathing article to expose the Attorney
During the hearing then CJI even said it is after all 1.72 cr cable laying expenses and that can be paid by Marans and the case closed.
Then I wrote an article saying that it is not a case of cable laying expenses but secret telephone exchange of over 1000 lines installed at the ministers home and used for uplinking Sun TV progs (for which a secret cable laid at a cost of 1..72 cr) the benefit in which would be hundreds of crores
I also reminder the Supreme court that just months before the court had confirmed sentence on a clerk for accepting a bribe of Rs 265 declaring that corruption should not be tolerated
I wrote that if a clerk has to go jail for a bibe of rs 265 the higher the stature of the corrupt greater should be the punishment
That attempt to quash the case failed and the charges were framed.
Then a pliable trial court first discharged them.
I scathingly attacked the trial court order as perverse
The Madras High court set aside the perverse order and the buccaneer minister went to the supreme court.
The supreme court asked them to face the trial
They delayed the trial by several years and now the trial is over and all witnesses had been examined.
Then the buccaneer began another round of litigation to delay the trial by getting Madras HC to order that the present telecom secy be summoned as court witness .. an absolutely untenable order
The CBI came in appeal to the SC against that order and shockingly the AG who appeared for the CBI earlier appeared for the buccaneer!
Then in a detailed article the OpIndia recounted the whole case from the start and the role of the then AG and now Maran counsel
https://t.co/ygmfwthZIj
After the OpIndia article the then AG didn't appear in the case
The SC finally told Maran that the telecom secy may be called not as court witness but as defence witness.
What is the difference
If he is a defence witness his statements will be admissible against the accused
Not if he is a court witness
They will now.probably not call the telecom secy as defence witness
Hopefully the trial will conclude soon and justice will be done
....20 years after the fraud was discovered by CBI but blocked by UPA
....16 years after it was exposed by me in the New Indian Express
...12 years after the legal battle began

A 20-year-old Delhi techie, Aryan Nishad, has launched https://t.co/rlW7xL7nnF, a platform where citizens can anonymously report bribe demands.
Users can log the amount, location, department and the service involved. These reports build a public database that exposes bribery patterns across government offices in India.
The site even helps people turn their reports into formal complaints for anti-corruption authorities.
The response has been huge, 25 lakh requests in just 10 hours.
Anupam Mittal called it a potential game-changer for governance and accountability.
One simple website is giving common citizens the power to document corruption and make it visible.
Note: These are crowdsourced allegations, not confirmed proof against any official.

I don't know who else to tell this to, so I am going to tell my story here.
Every day is a struggle for a young business, but the last few months have been harder than usual.
We are a small Indian company. For more than ten years we have been building a homegrown brand in a product category dominated by big foreign players.
There are almost no Indian names in this space. We set out to be one.
We started in 2014. Over the years we began making parts in India instead of just importing, and we started selling in the US, Dubai, Nepal, Malaysia and South Africa.
We showed up at global trade fairs to represent an Indian brand on the world stage.
In 2023 we changed the import code we use for our product. We did not do this quietly. Every shipment was declared. Nothing was hidden. We didn't invent our approach.
We followed written professional advice and the way this product is treated in markets around the world.
And now we are facing a government demand running into tens of crores in duty recovery and penalties, plus personal penalties on the founders and even on an employee.
For a company our size, this is not a fine we can pay and move on from. This ends us.
We have not run from any of this. I am not built like that. It is not how I was raised. We have written to the authorities, met officials in person, and we have now filed a writ in the High Court.
All we are asking for is a fair treatment.
I set out to build in India and sell to the world. I am asking only that the system back honest founders trying to compete globally, instead of breaking them.
The process is the process, and it exists for a reason. But process should not feel like punishment.
From where I am standing today, it does.
I am not giving up. I have worked too hard for this. If you have read this far, please share it. If you know someone who can help, point them my way. Help me get the word out.
Here is a big announcement from Adamya Chetana.
On 27th June, we will be planting 30,000 saplings in a single day as part of a mega plantation drive in Bengaluru. More importantly, we have a commitment that we will nurture and maintain every sapling for the next three years.
We invite you to join us not just for one day, but for this three-year journey of watering, deweeding, mulching, composting….
Plant the saplings. 🪴
Water them, care them for 3 yrs 🌱
They take care of us for generations. 🌳
Hey Bangalore, I’d really appreciate your help.
My wife’s starting her first business doing the thing she loves most - teaching!
She’s the only person I know whose students from years ago still call her for life and career advice.
She’ll be teaching commerce and accounting for 11th and 12th, in-person at Basavangudi.
If you know any students or students communities (or live in a place with tons of students), I’d really appreciate you reaching out. I’m really excited to see her succeed.
Thanks you ❤️
i was tired of stupid people on road so i hacked my helmet into a traffic police device 🚨
while i ride, ai agent runs in near real time, flags violations, and proof with location & no plate goes straight to police.
blr people - so now ride safe… or regret it.
No, you sick soul, we need accountability not white washing the terror, intellectualising the violence and virtue signalling with a token comment about Islamic radicalism and hijack of the "Noble" religion.
We need a mass protest by secular, liberal, so-called moderate, lapsed, believing Muslims as well as atheists and agnostics from Muslim heritage openly calling out political Islam. It has to reach a tipping point and be as visible as your CAA anti India, farmer protests or the Jantar Mantar/JNU fiasco protests.
What we need is accountability of mosques and madrasas, scrutiny of sermons, database of imams, mullahs, qazis and all sorts of preachers identifying exactly which of the 70+ sects within Islam do they adhere to including the ones in Shia Islam.
What we need is a monumental revisionism of the Scriptures, the Book, the Hadiths, the Sira and the other dozen cultural and social sources our preachers use to justify Sharia laws and the interpretations for non Muslims and Jihad; equivalent and as hugely funded as the one the Muslim Brotherhood did with the help of Al-Azhar Cairo, the Saudi monarchs and the Iranian mad mullahs in their 40 year rivalry for the custody of Islam and creating the black wave, which you see in the streets of non Muslim cities today in the form of hijabs, burqas, abayas, niqabs, beards and ankle length lowers.
Which very conveniently DJ/RJ activists of your cabal choose to ignore knowing they're untouchable in secular liberal Indian democracy where the jihadi or the wahabbi cannot touch them in the midst of the protection of majority Hindus.
But for all the above to happen, the safe space for the dissenting Muslims needs to be made, expanded, protected and boosted with all available technological resources so that the construct of Islamophobia that your ideological brothers of the Muslim Brotherhood invented, does not silence the pushback. Because blasphemy laws are still a thing along with honour killings and the justification of murder on a mere allegation of apostasy - because of which we never see a tipping point of the silent majority or mass protests by ordinary unfortunates from Muslim heritage who just want to live their lives and get along with everybody else.
Yes, you sick soul are the enemy that needs to be defeated before your armed brothers silence the fledgling dissent that has arisen from within. Otherwise ordinary Muslims or "bad" or not the "right" kind of Muslims will bear the brunt of the obvious, natural, logical mistrust and hatred of people.
And for your kind information body parts blowing up is not just a terrible incident. You would have known had you lived in the 90s Kashmir when the fathers of your ideological doctor brothers and sister arrested today normalised these "terrible incidents" in the hundreds.
We'll be damned if we let you bring back those days to Indian cities.
Hi Everyone. A very honest post here, and one that will cause me much embarrassment. You should know that I had a lot of trouble finding a Western publisher for my new book on Indian democracy because the South Asian Studies mafia attempted to "cancel" me. I did finally get the book published, but without your support the next one won't be published, because publishers are motivated by sales. Currently, my truth-telling on Indian democracy is getting crushed by Audrey Truschke's anti-Hindu history of India, which was published about the same time (and is priced at $40 to mine at $30). If hers is the narrative of India that you want to dominate Western discourses, so be it. But if you live in the US or UK and you want to support honest academic research on India, please do show your support by picking up a copy of DHARMA DEMOCRACY and leaving a review. Thanks. https://t.co/JqSteSswZT
I aspired to become a doctor in accordance with my late mother's wish, but I was unable to fulfil this ambition. Rather than pursuing a university education, I chose to join LeT, influenced by a man (Hafiz Saeed) who adversely impacted my promising future.
I recall being assigned the duty of guarding him in Muridkay, which served as his permanent residence and head office at that time. He previously travelled in a blue Toyota Vigo pickup Datsun, which had been modified with a comfortable sleeping area in the rear for his use.
Many youths, motivated by his speeches, joined LeT and subsequently travelled to Afghanistan and Indian Kashmir. Unfortunately, the majority did not return. Every Thursday, approximately 500 individuals from across the country travel to Afghanistan to undergo training at a camp named Ma’askar Tayyba located in Kunar Province.
I chose to leave LeT when its true face became clear to me in Afghanistan and Kashmir (Pakistani). I recall when the LeT commanders referred to me as a coward upon hearing of my decision to depart from the death cult. LeT currently has a force of approximately one million trained militants which established itself as a significant entity within the state.
He is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Pakistanis by sending them in a war of ashes to achieve state’s political goals. I wish to see his disgraceful end in my life. In Shaa Allah
I’m in a better place than Hafiz Saeed desired for me because Allah has chosen me to expose the dark faces of Islamists. Alhamdulillah
In 2015, Google mistakenly put its domain up for sale.
When this former employee realized this, he bought it for just $12.
Google had no choice but to give him what he wanted.
His answer? He didn't ask for $100,000. Not even $100 million.
This is what he asked for instead:

• The world mocked her

India did not enter the "hypersonic missile" group with this missile.
And that thing on the nose is an anomaly, not a feature.
Here's a quick and dirty thread on where this missile lies on the technology spectrum and what it means to India's security.
