Did you know that the Society of Illustrators (NYC) does free events for kids? It's true! All they have to do is register. It's a Zoom event, so available no matter where you live. My agency cousin @DarcyNotmrdarcy has one coming up and I'm sure it will be excellent.
My debut got a STARRED review from
@KirkusReviews and I am over the moon! "Honest, loving, and powerful" is precisely the way I want this book to be received. #kidlit#picturebook@LorianTuBooks ๐ฑ

I love Ted Lasso.
And I love this story about Brett Goldstein (the actor who plays Roy Kent).
Brett was hired as a writer for the show but started to feel like he actually could be one of the charactersโฆ
So he filmed himself doing a couple of scenes as Roy and sent it to the team for consideration.
He already HAD a job on the crew but he probably wouldnโt have been cast as a character without going out of his way to prove himself and then ASK for the role.
What else might you accomplish if you just pushed a little further?
If you asked for what you wanted?
Guess who's TRENDING on Twitter?

I once heard Madeline L'Engle speak. She advised writers to keep submitting to people who have rejected them before. "Nobody remembers, everybody changes jobs. I sent A Wrinkle in Time to everybody twice." It's ok to submit a new ms. to someone who has turned you down. #Tip19
