Steven Spielberg says that John Williams' score for ‘DISCLOSURE DAY’ is more subtle than his previous scores.
“He said ‘this time I’m going to write music not to lead the film, I’m going to write music under the film to give it the slight nudge forward.’”
@garbageaengel@masonsvie i mean that’s like saying that rosalia isn’t innovative because she just borrows from the flamenco scene and reggaeton scene. innovation is always referential. it’s how you mix and match sounds that produce innovation
@lana1989alex@HlGHFASHUN Yeah they do. But I also think in a way Lana has given young female artists a lot of freedom sonically by redefining the pop sound. Like what could Addison or Chapell do today that would be shocking? I do however hope they don’t just do what already worked
there are so many filmmakers and screenwriters who will tell you that phones killed cinema because much of the suspense of movies was that you couldn’t get in touch with other people at all times. phones poke holes in many plots.
You know that culture is dead because no one successfully reckons with phones in film and literature. It’s like having westerns without the railroad. Phones and phone culture should be what 90% of movies and books are about.
@ulxma I think the wording is way off, and if it really was one year after he had more time to think this one through. There’s very little self reflection here to me
@HlGHFASHUN I do really wish new artists were that brave. it’s rare artists have that much impact with their debut albums anymore, most of the new gen artists have been at it for years and finally broke through. so even if it’s not sophmore the leap charli is making now after brat is similar
