•Tschierva-Gletscher (Engadin) – hier wurde 2018 ein rund zwei Meter langer Lärchenstamm samt Wurzelstock freigelegt, der vor etwa 10’800 Jahren zu wachsen begann.
•Morteratschgletscher (Engadin) – mehrere Lärchenstämme, teils bis fünf Meter lang und 80 cm dick, auf rund 2150 m ü.M. gefunden; einer noch mit Wurzelstock.
•Glacier du Mont Miné (Wallis) – zahlreiche Baumstämme, die vor rund 8200 Jahren vom Gletscher überfahren wurden.
•Findelengletscher (Zermatt) – bereits seit 1931 regelmässig Holzfunde, vor allem Arvenholz, am Gletscherende auf rund 2300 m ü.M.
•Steingletscher (Berner Oberland) – ebenfalls ein bekannter Arvenstamm-Fund.
•Unteraargletscher – Belege, dass dort früher die Aare durch ein bewaldetes Tal mäandrierte.

Gemeinsamer Befund: Diese Hölzer zeigen, dass die betreffenden Gebiete – heute oberhalb der Baumgrenze und unter Eis – während wärmerer Phasen des Holozäns (v. a. vor rund 7000–8000 sowie rund 2000 Jahren) bewaldet und die Gletscher entsprechend kleiner waren als heute.
