The normalization of formula over breastfeeding is one of the greatest marketing tricks in history.

Breast milk is free. It contains antibodies that protect your baby from illness. It reduces the mother's risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and postpartum depression. It creates a bond between mother and child that nothing else can replicate.

Formula costs thousands of dollars a year. It is manufactured in factories. It has been recalled dozens of times for contamination.

It's called awesome-courses and it links directly to lecture videos, assignments, and exams from courses universities charge $80,000 a year to teach.

Solo dev reverse-engineered Google's billion-dollar algorithm in 7 days

Google published the paper that crashed memory stocks worldwide. Then shipped zero code.

Tom Turney read the math, opened his terminal, and built the whole thing with Claude - then made it faster than Google promised.

Day 1-3: Core algorithms, 141 tests, Python prototype
Day 3-5: C port into llama.cpp, Metal GPU kernels
Day 5-7: Speed optimization from 739 to 2747 tok/s

That's a 3.7x speedup through pure engineering:

> half4 vectorized butterfly ops
> graph-side rotation
> block-32 storage layout

Then he added his own research on top:

I sold cars for a while a few years ago. I was good at it. I made most of my money selling add-ons like warranties, or “service contracts.” People bought these from me even though I would have never bought one for myself

One particular day, I had made over $2000 (which happened a good bit). At the end of that day, I got in my truck to drive home, and I completely lost it. I couldn’t stop the tears, and they weren’t tears of joy. They were tears of emptiness and despair. I wasn’t put on this planet to sell bullshit warranties that I would never buy, and God let me feel it. That was the day I decided to leave the corporate world. My conscience would no longer let me live an incongruent life primarily in the pursuit of worldly treasure

Today, I work primarily for God. I make peanuts compared to what I used to make, but I am happy and at peace. My work is congruent with my faith and my values. This has made me more effective and more helpful in the world. It has brought people in my life that I get to help and pray for and has made me far less self-centered. This has made me much happier

Money is important, but it isn’t everything. If you feel unhappy pursuing wealth at the cost of your inner peace, perhaps it is time to step back and ask God for direction and the courage to follow it

— Get to know your Blessed Mother and other saints and ask them for help and intercession
— Get to know your local priests, have them over for meals, pray together, and engage in edifying conversation.
— Get together with other Catholic men to pray, discuss goals/challenges, and find ways to serve the community together.
— Develop a strong reading discipline
— Learn about the virtues and use the concepts to continually evaluate your life and take steps to grow in holiness
— Fiercely guard your media inputs.
— Counter every temptation to lust by praying for God’s blessing and protection on the women you encounter
— Avoid news/church drama unless it is strictly necessary for the fulfillment of your particular vocation
— Pray for your priests, bishop, and the pope (whether or not you like them)

In 1531 a "Lady from Heaven" appeared to Saint Juan Diego, a poor Indian from Tepeyac, a hill northwest of Mexico City. She identified herself as the Mother of the True God and instructed him to have the bishop build a church on the site. As a sign for the bishop, she left an image of herself imprinted miraculously on his tilma, a poor quality cactus-cloth. The tilma should have deteriorated within 20 years but shows no sign of decay after over 470 years. To this day it defies all scientific explanations of its origin.

In the eyes of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the tilma, we can see reflected what was in front of her in 1531. Her message of love and compassion, and her universal promise of help and protection to all mankind, as well as the story of the apparitions, are described in the "Nican Mopohua," a 16th century document written in the native Nahuatl language.

There is reason to believe that at Tepeyac Mary came in her glorified body, and her actual physical hands rearranged the roses in Juan Diego’s tilma, which makes this apparition very special.

An incredible list of miracles, cures, and interventions are attributed to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Each year an estimated 10 million people visit her Basilica, making her Mexico City home the most popular Marian shrine in the world, and the most visited Catholic church in the world after Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

Science cannot explain the tilma, to this day.

There is no under sketch, no sizing and no protective over-varnish on the image. Microscopic examination revealed that there were no brush strokes. The image seems to increase in size and change colors due to an unknown property of the surface and substance of which it is made. According to Kodak of Mexico, the image is smooth and feels like a modern day photograph. Produced 300 years before the invention of photography.) The image has consistently defied exact reproduction, whether by brush or camera. Several images can be seen reflected in the eyes of the Virgin. It is believed to be the images of Juan Diego, Bishop Juan de Zummaraga, Juan Gonzales-the interpreter and others.The distortion and place of the images are identical to what is produced in the normal eye, which is impossible to obtain on a flat surface. The stars on Our Lady's Mantle coincide with the constellation in the sky on December 12, 1531. All who have scientifically examined the image of Our Lady over the centuries confess that its properties are absolutely unique and so inexplicable in human terms that the image can only be supernatural.

Altogether 24 popes have officially honored Our Lady of Guadalupe. His Holiness Blessed John Paul II visited her Sanctuary four times: on his first apostolic trip outside Rome as Pope in 1979, and again in 1990, 1999 and 2002.

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated on December 12th. In 1999, Blessed John Paul II, in his homily given during the Solemn Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, his third visit to the sanctuary, declared the date of December the 12th as a Liturgical Holy Day for the whole continent. During the same visit Pope John Paul II entrusted the cause of life to her loving protection, and placed under her motherly care the innocent lives of children, especially those who are in danger of not being born.

Yes, you read that right.
The devil also attends Mass.
He was there at the Last Supper, hiding in the heart of Judas.
He still enters the church today… whispering distractions, stirring pride, and mocking silence.

He knows the prayers by heart.
He can even quote Scripture better than many Christians.
He watches the priest lift the chalice,
but he never kneels in adoration.
He knows Christ is truly present,
but he cannot love Him.

You see, being present at Mass doesn’t make anyone holy.
The devil was present when Jesus preached.
He was present when Jesus was crucified.
He was even present in the desert to tempt Him.
But presence without obedience is rebellion,
and attendance without conversion is hypocrisy.

Many come to Mass and leave unchanged,
talking, gossiping, scrolling their phones,
and treating the Eucharist as a ritual, not a miracle.
But the true believer comes trembling with love,
for he knows that at that altar,
Heaven bends low, and angels bow their faces in awe.

Don’t just be at Mass, belong to the Mass.
Don’t just watch, worship.
Don’t just approach, adore.

The devil also attends Mass.
But he will never say, “My Lord and my God.”
