Excited to share our latest work from @Cabreiro_Lab in collaboration with the Bjedov lab @Ivana75154822 - congratulations to everyone involved who made this study possible! Online now in @Cell_Metabolism

@BurtonNick Cool! Interesting to see that gram + also produce agmatine metabolites to regulate worm physiology. In 2019 we showed that agmatine from gram - regulate mitochondrial b-oxidation and increases worm and fly lifespan.

Great to see our recent paper with @Ivana75154822 on protein synthesis featured in @ScienceMagazine.
Interesting Professor Filipe @Cabreiro_Lab has been referenced as an 'ageing researcher', he is quite sprightly for his age!

Reducing naturally occurring errors in protein synthesis (production) improves both health and lifespan, finds a new study in simple model organisms led by Dr Ivana Bjedov @Ivana75154822@uclcancer@uclmedsci with @Cabreiro_Lab@MRC_LMS https://t.co/c3vXtWAod4
Professor Filipe Cabreiro, head of the Host-Microbe Co-Metabolism group at the MRC LMS and fellow author of the paper commented on the findings. @Cabreiro_Lab
Latest work from our lab is now online @Nature highlighting a new dimension of gut bacteria-drug interactions. We show that common medications are accumulated by gut bacteria and impact their metabolism through enzyme binding. https://t.co/LxOx3llmYv
Looking for a model to study the #microbiome? We've got details on the worm in a Perspective article from Cassandra Backes, @dan_martimarti, and @Cabreiro_Lab.
