I agree that utility is not the ultimate coupling and potentially only a subset of possible resonant frequencies between two nodes. If we play that game, the evolutionary wiring we have is also not ultimate and can be tweaked. I’m saying, just because something is not principally impossible, doesn’t mean that we have a working solution at hand. There is a meteor coming societally, you are saying it can be deflected by a nuke but the metaphorical nukes haven’t been invented yet. Unless we find another resonance, we’ll be extinct in 2-3 generations.

Ok I’m not as certain as you are on this frankly. Throughout history, none of our social or physical technologies have been in conflict with the utility of both sexes to each other. Materially, men’s strength allowed us to protect from predators and build the infrastructure and women’s nurturing allowed healthy offspring. Even our fictional stories as religions have acknowledged the utility of both sexes and their comparative advantages. Now, we are at a point that no longer rationally justifies having relationships with the other sex if not to satisfy hardwired biological urges. So we reach to your point of non-utilitarian relationship structures. What is it that you are suggesting we form intra-sexual relationships based on? If not primitive urges (a physical atraction or resources for survival), what can we propose intellectually to form intra-sexual couples that can bypass the physiological “ick” of not being attracted to someone? This also needs to cater to forming intra-sexual qualities and mating otherwise it becomes a strong friendship which isn’t conducive to offspring. My point is, we have never seen an example of such a transcendent societal gaslighting to a point that overrides that “ick” or lack of attraction solely by intellectual means. This isn’t like off-loading a lack of physical capacity such as wings to airplanes. This is genuine behavioral engineering.

The disentropic view is pretty interesting. You are certainly right that what makes a body (or a civilization) work is not a clump of cells thrown together, it is the selfless act of taking part in coherence. But I’m very curious of one thing, the illusion of free will. Most of our problems seem to be rooted in neglecting the demands of our primitive evolutionary hardware. On one hand, we seem to be able to think beyond basic needs and wants guided by hormones etc. On the other hand, this capability resulted in a market driven society that optimize for things that are in clash with our biological needs. So what if havings kids or seeking partners based on utility (even if its subconscious) were the things that kept society moving? Can we really, and genuinely, override the software to look beyond physical or material utility of a partner and form lifelong relationships? What if the hardware is the inevitable first principle that we are chained to?

I’m fully with you as far as the equality of opportunity feminism goes. But I think the contemporary feminism is highjacked by the academic postmodernists which deny all reality and create resentment towards all men. I also fully agree with you that the rich hot guy expectations of women or the domestic slave expectations of men are both delusional. 30-40 years ago, these expectations would have been quickly corrected by the neighborhood dating market and reality. But the social media deluded everyone and this toxicity spreads like a virus. We really need a hard reset in terms of how to arrange society for the modern world.

The unfortunate reality is there is a huge mismatch with the job market incentives and mating incentives. Women can certainly have aspirations to have an high impact career which takes many years to develop, but they also want good looking and high earning men. These same men, value youth and a nurturing character. This overall forces women to 1) priorotize relationships when they are young, 2) settle for some non-ideal partner or 3) end up lonely.

@Jason It’s not about them having low salaries, career politicians shouldn’t be a thing at all. These positions are deserved by in-field experts to guide domain specific legislation. It should be a sabbatical for mid career elites to serve the nation, not for salaries.

Lying for attention is what I suspect is going on here. The problem is when they lie about things that hold immense ramifications like this, the word loses it’s meaning and the trust is gone in society. We need to call out the bad actors. But I’ve genuinely seen women, after hooking up with a guy above their caliper and getting ghosted afterwards, they called them rapists and these claims have been cheered on in feminist forums. So modern feminism is also partially at fault here in degrading the intensity of rape. Literally all men I know would protect the women around them at all costs and none of them are against capital punishment on actual rapist scum.

@LycurganMan @EmperorGeiseric @AkkadSecretary Not really, I bought mine with 2.5% interest, it saves a lot from rent and there is a steady growth of home equity. I’d say it could work if you are using it as your primary residence and it saves you against rent inflation. But I wouldn’t buy real estate as an investment.

But my critism of the education system is that, we are teaching the students to throw the arrow by hand still instead of using the bow.

@TedWest84 @AdamZivo Good question, as a hobby, the point is to enjoy them. As a monetary skill in a competitive market, if a 60iq person with the most basic of skills can outcompete you by pressing the buttons and getting the answers from AI, well, you enjoy your diploma I guess.

@Huricane_Ditka @AdamZivo I agree. So my prediction is, the dumbest of the people will swing AI into unthinkable problems and crack them. It won’t take long after that the academic dinasours can keep gaslighting you into believing what they are teaching you is inextricable from expert level work.
