starting something i've wanted for a while: bring the amazing @WPReadingClub to Germany and closer to @SuperteamDE

last time while in Singapore I learned so much and connected with so many interesting people, I remember thinking that's exactly what is missing here

one paper, read it beforehand, show up, work through it together

paper: Gatling, rapid-fire consensus (Resnick, Neu, Scaffino). most consensus work optimizes how fast a block confirms; this one goes after the time between proposals, pushing it below network delay. the latency frontier solana actually lives on.

price usually catches up to usage. But by the time everyone sees it… the easy upside is gone.

the chains that win won’t just have high tps. they’ll have builders who can actually see what’s happening under the hood.

i think a lot of people look at price. I'm trying to see long term

sol just did:
+755% payment volume growth in a year
$3.84b in b2b transactions
$1.6t in spot trading volume

but price don't reflect that now a days

that’s the observability gap.

when on-chain reality and market sentiment are telling two different stories, this is where i pay attention:

1. follow the real flows: who’s driving that 9x b2b surge? which programs are actually capturing volume?
2. watch the friction: tx success rates. cu consumption. where things start breaking as load increases.
3. study infra edges: slot leader performance. congestion patterns. what degrades first under stress?

– a testnet node
– a hot swap node
– an rpc node
that’s 4 bare metal machines total.
didn’t expect the infra to scale that fast.

running an indie validator means you’re ops, dev, and customer support all at once. automation is the only way a one-person team actually scales.
