after years in crypto, I finally did it: quit my 9-5 and went all-in building solana tools.
I thought running a validator would give me freedom.
spoiler: it didn’t.
starting something i've wanted for a while: bring the amazing @WPReadingClub to Germany and closer to @SuperteamDE
last time while in Singapore I learned so much and connected with so many interesting people, I remember thinking that's exactly what is missing here
one paper, read it beforehand, show up, work through it together
first one's in munich, @soltop_sh first event in germany
paper: Gatling, rapid-fire consensus (Resnick, Neu, Scaffino). most consensus work optimizes how fast a block confirms; this one goes after the time between proposals, pushing it below network delay. the latency frontier solana actually lives on.
come if you've read it. let's get into it.

super cool connecting with builders at the @SuperteamDE Solana Colosseum event in Munich today. if you are hacking this weekend and want to talk MEV protection or compute optimization, come find me

Snapshot downloads shouldn't be a geography tax.
Validators in LATAM and SEA spend way too long bootstrapping because most snapshot providers are concentrated in Europe and the US.
We're now serving public snapshots via Cloudflare CDN: full + incremental, refreshed every 12h, free for anyone.
Small infra, real impact. Learn more at: https://t.co/IQBp3u1Fh2
> Get a list of all the people robbing you blind.
> Detect backruns and frontrun activity per PoH tick for different pools
> Analyze any wallet and all its transactions through visual graphs
> Study write locks contentions on any account
We’re excited to roll out Blockline, built by @soltop_sh - exclusively for our Pro plan users.
price usually catches up to usage. But by the time everyone sees it… the easy upside is gone.
the chains that win won’t just have high tps. they’ll have builders who can actually see what’s happening under the hood.
i think a lot of people look at price. I'm trying to see long term
sol just did:
+755% payment volume growth in a year
$3.84b in b2b transactions
$1.6t in spot trading volume
but price don't reflect that now a days
that’s the observability gap.
when on-chain reality and market sentiment are telling two different stories, this is where i pay attention:
1. follow the real flows: who’s driving that 9x b2b surge? which programs are actually capturing volume?
2. watch the friction: tx success rates. cu consumption. where things start breaking as load increases.
3. study infra edges: slot leader performance. congestion patterns. what degrades first under stress?
Instead of a recap thread, we’re shipping code
As a small end-of-year gift, we’re open-sourcing Soltop, a terminal UI for real-time @solana program monitoring. Think htop for Solana programs: TPS, CU/sec, success rates, live slots, all in your terminal.
Open to feedback, issues, and contributions. Happy holidays, builders 🎄

@ShaneLykins apart from the mainnet validator, we’re also running:
– a testnet node
– a hot swap node
– an rpc node
that’s 4 bare metal machines total.
didn’t expect the infra to scale that fast.
running a solana validator from brazil.
no hype. just ops, numbers, and lessons.
i’m an indie hacker + investor, and i’m sharing the whole journey as it unfolds.
happy to talk about:
- validator economics (what actually works, how much it really costs per month)
- building on solana, from infra to products
- brazil’s crypto scene from the inside (founders, users, regulation, reality)

Quick peek at how the open-source Soltop is shaping up 👀
Still early, but the core pieces are coming together nicely. Feels like the kind of tooling @solana programs have been missing. Curious what you think, @toly.
More soon.
@triton_one saw the role for Old Faithful with ClickHouse, big ETLs, Solana infra. That’s exactly the type of work I’ve been doing with @soltop_sh and Blockline. Just sent my application, would be great to contribute!
ever wonder who’s backrunning or frontrunning your transactions?
i’m building a small mev tool that shows exactly who’s sniping your strategy and how often. looking for a few early users, just ping me.

my node never sleeps… but i definitely need to. just shipped automated failover so I don't have to wake up for a 3 AM server restart
running an indie validator means you’re ops, dev, and customer support all at once. automation is the only way a one-person team actually scales.
running at 0% and trying to get into stake pools doesn’t mean we’re here to squeeze the network.
we’re here to build, to strengthen it.
trust is the real currency at the beginning.
and if you’re a good actor, you gotta act like one. not just tweet it.
