CCA is deeply saddened by the passing of @RepLaMalfa. He was a steadfast champion for his constituents and a trusted friend to many. His loss will be deeply felt, but his legacy of service and leadership will endure. Our heartfelt condolences are with all who knew and loved him.
House Republicans mourn the loss of Congressman Doug LaMalfa.
A lifelong resident of Northern California and a fourth-generation rice farmer, Congressman LaMalfa spent more than two decades in public service. He proudly represented California’s 1st Congressional District from 2013 to 2026, serving as Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus.
Please join us in praying for Congressman LaMalfa’s wife, kids, and staff.
A new law will allow ranchers to compost dead livestock in California. Laura Snell @ucanr and Kasey DeAtley @ChicoState discuss with @calcattlemen their research to avoid attracting wolves, bears and coyotes https://t.co/75Rqu0bnsk
.@realDonaldTrump@WhiteHouse Cattlemen and women cannot stand behind President Trump while he undercuts the future of family farmers and ranchers by importing Argentinian beef. It is imperative that @POTUS and @SecRollins let cattle markets work without interference.
If the administration is truly an ally of America’s cattle producers, we call on him to abandon this effort to manipulate markets and focus instead on completing the promised New World Screwworm facility in Texas; make additional investments that protect the domestic cattle herd from foreign animal diseases such as FMD; and address regulatory burdens, such as delisting of the gray wolf and addressing the scourge of black vultures.
.@realDonaldTrump@POTUS@WhiteHouse The reality is that ranchers’ success is driven by their own hard work. America’s cattlemen and women operate in one of the most competitive marketplaces in the world. U.S. cattle producers are proud to provide the safest, highest-quality beef on earth. We simply ask that the government not undercut them by importing more Argentinian beef in order to manipulate prices.

"Farmers and ranchers are everything. They're everything to the work we do and stories we tell, and that's our goal with the research, to have real-world impact."

🚨 Big win for California ranchers! Governor @GavinNewsom has signed CCA-sponsored legislation that legalizes on-ranch composting of routine livestock mortalities. This will reduce costs, protect wildlife, & prevent predator conflicts. Thank you Asm. @DianePapan & Gov. Newsom!
New World screwworm is now 70 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. That is far too close. @USDA has taken some important steps to protect the cattle industry, but it's time to move faster. NCBA is asking for:
🏗️ @USDA to expedite construction of the domestic sterile fly facility
💉 @FDA to build on their emergency use authorization and approve more treatment options for screwworm
🪰 @EPA to approve pesticides to combat screwworm
Cattle producers should stay vigilant and report any suspicious wounds, larvae, or flies to their state animal health officials.
WATCH: Kevin Kester reflects on how the Working Families Tax Cuts will allow him to keep his family ranch in operation and eventually pass it down to the next generation.
The Working Families Tax Cuts helps ranchers like Tony Toso in @RepMcClintock’s district.
Republicans stand with America’s family farmers and ranchers!
