@EthanDelaney95@TexasPreacher The constitution of the Presbyterian Church is first Scripture then the Westminster Standards and BCO, not the councils. The Westminster Standards benefit from a lot of the work of early councils, but the councils are not themselves recognized as containing the system of doctrine
@JordanAW1991 My understanding is that for all exceptions, it is the Presbytery declaring that you are allowed to be wrong on the issue, not to practice or teach it from the pulpit. I am not aware of how it actually is practiced universally, though.
@1600sPaleocon@ZacharyGarris SJC meets during the year, since it's a commission. I haven't heard any word on if Rev. Zach has appealed or not, but if he does, the newly elected SJC members (tomorrow) will hear the appeal sometime before the next GA and announce in their report what they decided
@TheCornDog Potentially, though many motions appeared to just be to ask presbytery to investigate further for its due diligence, not to find a stated difference invalid. Unless I am wrong since I’m not present and do not have the actual language of the motions
