@darwintojesus The oldest religion still practiced today is Hinduism which dates back over 4,000 years. If we are to use time as a metric to validate the truth of a particular religion, then Hinduism is more plausible with respect to the truth claims it makes about reality than Christianity.
@michwizzerp We have the same philosophy but most people, unfortunately, cannot see beyond the capitalist indoctrination that has been deep rooted in all of us since children. Namely, the vile maxim that one is a failure if one does not aspire to acquire more material wealth. It’s parasitic.
You’re right, Mr. President - you don’t have a racist bone in your body.
You have a racist mind in your head, and a racist heart in your chest.
That’s why you violate the rights of children and tell the Congresswoman who represents your home borough, to “go back to my country.”
Until Republican officials denounce yesterday’s explicitly racist statements (which should be easy!), we sadly have no choice but to assume they condone it.
It is extremely disturbing that the *entire* GOP caucus is silent. Is this their agenda?
This just broke: a secret Facebook group of 9,500 CBP officers discussed making a GoFundMe for officers to harm myself & Rep. Escobar during our visit to CBP facilities & mocked migrant deaths.
This isn’t about “a few bad eggs.” This is a violent culture. https://t.co/SkFwThHElx
.@realDonaldTrump and his band of war hawks @SecPompeo & @AmbJohnBolton have brought us to the brink of war with Iran, which would have devastating consequences for the region and the world. This should terrify every American.
Today the Supreme Court threw up its hands & declared it can’t rein in partisan gerrymandering – can’t protect Americans’ constitutional rights to participate in their democracy equally & choose their representatives. It's a shameful blow to the functioning of our democracy.
So Einstein was only partially right. Material objects (atoms, photons) and net information (e.g. Morse code) cannot go faster than light. But immaterial things can break the light barrier (e.g. the expansion of the universe in the big bang). So Einstein still has the last laugh
This time a year ago, I was bartending while running a long-shot campaign for Congress.
That time felt so dark and yet so hopeful at the same time. Our odds were dismal + I was dismissed, but we felt that fighting hard for what’s right - even uphill - was worth it.
Keep going.
Can you prove the existence of God? Probably not. Science is based on evidence which is testable, reproducible, and falsifiable. So God is outside the usual boundary of science. Also, it is impossible to disprove a negative, so you cannot disprove the existence of God, either.
