This is a much better D.C.-related proposal but Republicans adamantly oppose it because they're terrified of Democrats gaining new seats. Even so, the case for statehood is exceptionally strong. Why shouldn't the capital — which has a population of roughly 693,000 people — receive equal representation in the House and Senate? Wyoming has just 588,000 people and it exerts enormous influence on national legislation through its elected officials.

But instead of debating a real issue like statehood, we're going to get stuck discussing Trump's asinine Triumphal Arch. Pop quiz: which triumph exactly is he celebrating? He's been inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris which was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte, seen by many historians as the greatest general who ever lived, after his victory at Battle of Austerlitz.

Trump has no such victories. His disastrous Iran War has turned into perhaps the greatest strategic defeat in the history of the U.S. military. Iran is stronger than ever, exerting direct control over the Strait of Hormuz, and American munitions have been all but exhausted. Closer to home, he has been waging an illegal war and blowing up so-called "drug smugglers" which in many cases have turned out to be innocent fisherman.

Despite his delusions to the contrary, Donald Trump is not some conquering caesar bestriding a world that quakes in his shadow. He's a demented old pedophile knee-deep in failure.

JUST IN: In a deeply embarrassing and un-American court filing, the Trump regime is now arguing that CNN, MS NOW, and Politico can be stripped of White House access in the name of “national security.”

In the new filing, DOJ argues that even reporting that is accurate but contains sensitive national security information can cause harm, and says limiting reporters’ physical access can reduce their ability to obtain such information.

The DOJ uses Donald Trump’s deranged Truth Social posts in the filing to make its argument.

The regime is asking the judge to reject the outlets’ emergency bid to restore their White House access and is also arguing that longstanding precedent protecting press access was “wrongly decided.”
