An estimated 50,000 patients died, often from disease, in the country's 18 State-run mental asylums. They are in big, unmarked graves. Why so little fuss about this? https://t.co/fmwYVHCTDa
The Tuam septic tank Hoax in Ireland is like similar moral panics elsewhere which are driven by hysterical media and social media narratives such as the indigenous mass graves hoax in Canada.
At the root of all of these events is iconoclastic hatred of God and of the idea that there is a moral centre outside the self. The Church and nuns are a frequent target for iconiclastic mobs as they remind people that there are those who live a life of total devotion to others without pay or glory, unlike the shitlib who must broadcast his supposed virtue to all.
Combine that inherent narcissism with declining standards of education in relation to history and an inability to view historical events in the context of the era and we have the heart of the problem. Past events are weighed against the shitlibs life of comfort and ease. No need to consider the difficulty in caring for the sickest children in the country during a period of extreme poverty. No need to consider anything outside of your own limited life experience.
The inane shitlibs who hurl these ridiculous accusations are so full of moral indignation and desire for power that they scarcely think through the claims at all. We see this regularly with false rape accusations which are simply amplified based on political or personal dislike of a person. If you question the events or demand clarification then you become the target, a rape appilogist! That shuts most people up.
I remember the Tuam thing coming out and thinking how unlikely to be an accurate depiction of events it was but the mob has no mind, only feelings. Common sense would tell you that the story was obviously bullshit as it was portrayed, as are claims of indigenous mass graves, but these stories feed those who repeat them with a sense of moral superiority that is powerful.
There is a political and social engineering dimension as well which revels in producing misery porn such as this to denigrate Irish independence and Catholicism. This is a prerequisite to being a colony of liberal capital and progressove social agendas. Ireland is uniquely blighted in this regard.
Liam Neeson has a movie out about this which will provide visual imagery for the unthinking fools who will consume it. Most people derive their understanding of the world and history from entertainment and that is why such movies are produced. The images in that movie are more persuasive than the official report which found no basis for such accusations.
Here's the notorious 'Seige [sic] of Drumcree Medal' from 1995, which David Trimble used to sport. Bars and clasps were added for future stand-offs. I wonder if there'll be another.
“Ten miles north of Bofin, the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, another solitary, spent a winter near the little Connemara village of Renvyle.
Though it was in 1947, local people still remember Wittgenstein for the austerity of his habits and the wild seabirds he tamed by talking to them in German. It is rumoured that he’d stand so long in concentration among the rocks, seagulls would begin to settle on him.
During this time, he subsisted mostly on corn flakes. “A simple man,” says a Renvyle farmer who knew Wittgenstein. “A simple and plain man.”

Nuala O'Faoiláin admitted that Irish media were unique in their hegemonic liberalism, but defended this on the grounds that Irish Catholic culture necessitated an ironclad media consensus of the opposite kind. A propaganda version of extraordinary rendition, if you will.
The Isle of Man is not attached to the seabed.
The island can be rotated by the tug which is permanently positioned at the north pointy bit.
This enables the island to be rotated in line with the wind so aircraft can always use the same runway irrespective of wind direction.
The Irish cultural critic Brian Fallon has just died (RIP). In the 90s he wrote a book 'An Age Of Innocence' which challenged some of the conventional liberal wisdom about 1950s Ireland, e.g. that Catholic and rural values held uncontested dominance in the culture.
RIP Brian Fallon. He wrote a superb book called' An Age of Innocence' which challenged the stereotype of Ireland as a total cultural backwater in the decades after Independence.

Gloria Steinem, who just died, admitted quite late in the day, to working for the CIA - even championing that organisation as 'noble'. Hilariously in 80s-90s Ireland, the zealots for her pro-abortion feminism, accused pro-lifers of being CIA stooges. Accusations as confessions.
Pope St. John Paul II: “We need to clarify the essential difference between an unhealthy form of nationalism, which teaches contempt for other nations or cultures, and patriotism, which is a proper love of one's country. True patriotism never seeks to advance the well-being of one's own nation at the expense of others. For in the end this would harm one's own nation as well: doing wrong damages both aggressor and victim. Nationalism, particularly in its most radical forms, is thus the antithesis of true patriotism” (Address to the Fiftieth General Assembly of the United Nations, 1995)
Wendell Berry on our sexual perversions:
"In this cult of liberated sexuality, 'free' of courtesy, ceremony, responsibility, and restraint, dependent on litigation and expert advice, there is much that is human, sad to say, but there is no sense or sanity. Trying to draw the line where we are trying to draw it, between carelessness and brutality, is like insisting that falling is flying—until you hit the ground—and then trying to outlaw hitting the ground."
Healthcare is getting worse
Nobody wants the night shift with the dying
Nuns did that as a vocation, not as a shift
The Dutch state emptied the Catholic hospitals and clinics
The Church was not needed, the government could do it themselves
Yet in 10 years they expect to be 300,000 caregivers short
So yesterday the health minister lecture the Dutch churches to take the pressure off the healthcare system
They first smashed Christian welfare
Now that they’re failing, they blame us
Twenty years ago, when I was a teenager, I knew all the acts at music festivals. Today, when I'm in my mid-thirties, I don't know any of them. This says a lot about people other than me.
