If I were advising the UK Prime Minister, I would tell them to make a televised statement to the nation tonight (or very soon) along the following lines:
1. We are in an energy crisis. This crisis is having a dreadful effect on everyone’s finances. And it is going to get worse.
@alarter Yep I left @NEUnion for the same reason a few years ago. I joined NAHTedge (though I think they’ve rebranded to be just NAHT now?). They’re aimed at all levels of leadership and I much prefer it to previous unions
@easyJet Hi, I tried calling several times but couldn’t get through or was cut off. Instead I had to book a separate flight and hotel and have submitted the claims to be reimbursed for this
@easyjet Flight cancelled at short notice yesterday, no other flight within 24 hours, couldn’t get hold of anyone. Had to book a flight on another airline to get home the following day and book a night in a hotel. Still can’t get hold of anyone to confirm refund and reimbursement
@jjbrassington Yeah it’s old-fashioned really but I think I previously thought that titles maintained respect but actually good relationships establish that anyway. And now I don’t have to listen to ‘miiiissss, miiiiisssss’
@jjbrassington I always thought I’d find it weird to go by my first name in a school but I work in one now where that’s the case and I am all for it. I think it’s great
@ChrisMoyse I see the benefits - particularly for a cohort of ECTs who might have missed big chunks of their ITT. We use the UCL materials and I like the way they can help ECTs focus on a particular element of their practice but I have to do the reading too and that’s a stretch right now
@OliviaCerullo I know right! I’m none the wiser. Found what I needed in the ended but only by specifying race and going through multiple pages for each career. I’m sure it’s got worse since we last discussed our frustration with it in terms of gender too
