@mlycan12 I think there should be efforts to get players involved early. Unfortunately a lot of clubs don't make this a priority. Emma Hayes should have a grass roots efforts with college coaches and work their way down.
We talk all the time about how far women’s sports have come.
And it’s true—look at the National Women's Soccer League right now. The growth, the investment, the visibility…all of it is real.
But then you look at this:
I pulled data on ~350 NCAA D1 women’s soccer programs…
If you’re a woman, you basically have to be an elite former player to become a head coach.
If you’re a man… not so much.
81% of female head coaches played D1
41% of male head coaches did
40% of female head coaches were P4 players
7% of men were
And 11% of men never played college soccer, while every single female did.
We’ve made progress. But not everywhere. I'm sure there will be lots of theories, explanations. I'd love to hear them. #CollegeCoaching #GenderGap
I am excited to announce that I have committed to the University of Indianapolis to play college soccer! A special thank you to Coach Simmonds and Vern for the unwavering support. Lastly, I’d like to thank the UIndy coaching staff for this opportunity!! Go Hounds! ❤️🐾
@mlycan12 This is why I follow you - you say exactly how it is. This is why we need more women coaches. Honestly I've been waiting to see a change happen bc the coaching you are referring to is live and well - EVERYWHERE. It is destroying athletes.
@17SophiaRose Good for you! My daughter is also a CB and BUT A 2026 - her reason was alot like yours but her recruitment was on hold bc of surgery. Keep your standards high and your nonnegotiables at the top of the list. Those haters will be in the transfer portal next year 😉
Watching men's soccer before our game is hilarious. Que the roll on the ground and drama to follow. The ref walks over with a look of "ya right" and waits for the "hurt" player to jump back up. I swear they must practice this on the men's side? @ImYouthSoccer@ImCollegeSoccer
Who owns something older than your kids?!🙋♀️ I began lifting AFTER I tore my ACL in high school. My choice back then were no sports senior year w/surgery or track w/o surgery. My dad said if I was serious he would help me. This was my present, a new lifting belt ->track
Here are some clips from the Jags Showcase last weekend! I scored my first goal of the season, and I am ready to get some more. Great preparation for our first league games on February 14th and 15th!

The conversations I have with my teens:
Son: I was training and this older guy asked me what my back routine was.
Husband: you have good genetics, you get your back from me.
Son: Dad I think I get my back from mom, hers is pretty impressive.
Husband: rolling his eyes.....
Thank you to all the responsible adults out there that sheltered in place for the impending Armageddon coming. You made our 4 hour drive to Michigan super easy! No traffic! @ImCollegeSoccer@ImYouthSoccer
“I think we sent a message first of all to society that if you keep your nose to the grindstone and work hard and you got the right people, anything’s possible,” Curt Cignetti.
Toughness, Effort and Character makes a difference.
The ONLY thing nice about an HOUR drive to the fields from our "mandated" hotel is embarrassing my daughter infront of her teammate with our playlist and getting to hear AC/DC on repeat in our "upgraded" minivan!
@ImYouthSoccer@ImCollegeSoccer
Things you can't see on the field: the dedication she spends mentoring younger players, the grit and dedication to not only her sport but academics, the brothers that look up to her as not only an athlete but as a hard worker. This young lady is going to do big things!
A little late, but here are some of my highlights from ECNL KC! Feeling good to be back with my team!
You can find some extended highlights on my YouTube page (linked in my bio).
