🚨Mission Update: Rollout for Artemis II is less than two weeks away.
This milestone begins final, system-wide testing as NASA prepares to send astronauts around the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years, with a launch window opening as soon as February 6.

Groundbreaking news - literally! NordSpace’s Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX) in beautiful Newfoundland and Labrador is roaring to life 🚀 As we prepare for the historic first launch of a Canadian commercial rocket from a Canadian commercial spaceport in the coming weeks, we recently broke ground with construction officially starting at SLC-02 (Space Launch Complex 02).
Over the next year, we will complete the majority of construction at SLC-01 and SLC-02 to support the first ever orbital flight attempt from Canadian soil. We will also construct a second pad to support a partner orbital launch vehicle in 2028. The ASX is critical national infrastructure, more important than ever for Canada at a time when our sovereignty and security are at stake.
Our first flight is so much more than a test of our rocket, Taiga, and our 3D printed Hadfield engines. It’s a test of our ability to:
✅ Orchestrate 20+ complex stakeholders at federal, provincial and municipal levels
✅ Navigate 30+ regulatory hurdles from environmental approvals to airspace clearances
✅ In-house manufacture and vertically integrate 100% of our rocket and launch ops
✅ Coordinate rapid construction efforts and detailed on-site logistics across multiple provinces
✅ Complete a highly challenging mission on time and within budget
Watch out for exciting updates related to our first satellite, Terra Nova, launching next year with our Edge-AI Imaging system, major expansion of our manufacturing facility, new research projects in materials and manufacturing, a lunar mission, and most importantly some big (literally) reveals related to our orbital rocket program.

A few thoughts on this evolving story: While space-faring states are liable for damage caused by space objects under internal law, recovering debris requires collaboration between all parties (especially if that party is a sovereign state). 1/2
As previously stated, there are no hazards to the surrounding area. Previous independent tests conducted on materials inside Starship, including toxicity analyses, confirm they pose no chemical, biological, or toxicological risks.

Despite SpaceX’s attempts to recover the anomaly related debris, which is and remains the tangible property of SpaceX, these attempts have been hindered by unauthorized parties trespassing on private property.
We have requested local and federal assistance from the government of Mexico in the recovery of anomaly related debris, offered resources and assistance in the clean-up, and have sought validation of SpaceX’s right to conduct recovery operations.
SpaceX looks forward to working with the Mexican Government and local authorities for the return of the debris as soon as possible.
That being said, dismissing environmental concerns and the physical impact of debris on natural ecosystems – even if toxicity risks are low – is absolutely what not to do when developing responsible safe and secure launch. 2/2
