On site at this 33-storey residential development, 353 new purpose-built rental homes are taking shape, another example of what’s possible when government, industry and labour work together to cut red tape, accelerate approvals and get shovels in the ground.
Today, LiUNA Intl VP & Canadian Director Joe Mancinelli was proud to welcome Minister of Red Tape Reduction @andrea_khanjin to Hamilton, together with MPP @mciriellompp and Reps of LiUNA @Local837 to see firsthand the work underway to build more homes, faster
Policy matters most when you can see it in action.
Today, we were proud to welcome Ontario’s Minister of Red Tape Reduction, Hon. @Andrea_Khanjin to Hamilton to see firsthand what it means to turn policy into progress with LiUNA members on the ground building the housing our communities need.
Through the POWER Act, Ontario is working to remove unnecessary barriers, streamline approvals and create a more efficient path from planning to construction. Because when we reduce delays and get projects moving, we don’t just build more homes; we create good union jobs, strengthen communities and generate opportunities for the skilled workers who make it all possible.
There is no better place to see that work in action than on a jobsite.
Thank you, Minister Khanjin for coming to Hamilton, listening to those building our communities and recognizing the critical role LiUNA members play in getting shovels in the ground and building Ontario forward.
We’re keeping workers on the job through our nearly $70 billion plan to build the largest transit expansion in North America.
Across Ontario, we’re building the critical transit that creates good-paying jobs, fights gridlock and gets families where they need to go faster.

Tunnelling is now complete for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension!
This Transportation Tuesday, we’re taking a look at the nine-kilometre extension that will connect commuters in Mississauga and Etobicoke to Line 5, cutting travel times and putting nearly 40,000 more people within walking distance of transit.
Just be You! Don't strive to be a cheap copy of another person instead of being an interesting original. We all have trials but they shouldn't motivate us to be another person but it should motivate us to be the best u that we can be. #CoahPrime
Grammy-winning musician John Fogerty: "I believe in God, and I believe God is watching me... all of us. So that part helps me to feel like there's a reason to try and be a good person. The reason being... you're in God's grace if you try to live a good life."

I joined Prime Minister @MarkJCarney in Toronto this afternoon to see the progress being made on the transformational Ontario Line.
As part of Ontario’s plan to build the largest transit expansion in North America, the Ontario Line is supporting 4700 jobs during construction and will put nearly 230,000 more people within walking distance of fast, reliable transit.
This morning, Laborers Local 872 Vice President Marco Hernandez addressed members at the Dry Lake Conference East Energy Center Solar Project during their morning safety meeting to invite them to our upcoming LEAN (Laborers Escaping Adversity Now) Members Supporting Members meeting. Together, we continue building a stronger union by supporting one another on and off the job. @LIUNA@LECET@LIUNA_NWRegion

Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some great union contractors, including PCL, EllisDon, Strabag, Kiewit, and many others. Along the way, I had opportunities to switch into different trades, but I always enjoyed being a Labourer through LIUNA
That decision has given me more than just a career—it has given me a wide range of skills that I carry with me to every job site. Every project has taught me something new, and those experiences have made me a better worker and a better teammate.
To the younger generation entering the industry: don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Learn as many skills as you can, work in different sectors, ask questions, and never stop learning. Every experience adds value, and the knowledge you gain today will open doors tomorrow.
Proud to be LIUNA
