@PetrosAndMoney I hear tell Colonel Petros mentioned them damn Yankee balloons yesterday. Sneaky bastards never did fight fair. But when one of our fellas shot one down? Why, that had me grinnin’ like a possum eatin’ a sweet tater.
@Theoldp I knew an Atticus Knickelback during the War Of Yankee Agression. A fine soldier and could skin the hide from a scalded beaver like none I've seen fore or since.
@PetrosAndMoney@bjsrestaurants Camp Downey, on what is now Seventh Avenue in Oakland, California, was established on 8/31/1861, by the 1st Infantry, California Volunteers. After 9/15/1861, the camp was abandoned as the Volunteers took ship for Camp Latham in Southern California to suppress secessionists there.
@Theoldp Ahhhh, the elixir. A right fine potion if there ever was one. A generous pour into one's jar of branch water could give a man mystical powers.
@PetrosAndMoney Hear tell you boys are fixin to do some camping. I reckon you'll be a bit more comfortable today than we were then. As that Money fella says, it was a different time.
Dear reader,
We find our cause in most dire straights. The @PetrosAndMoney company has not reported in pert near a week. I fear that them boys may have given up the ghost. Morale here is lower than a pimple on a possum. I desperately pray that we hear tell of them soon.
@pmspshopbandit @PetrosAndMoney We had just two airships in the War Of Northern Aggression. The Yankees had fair bit more. Timmy's great great uncle, Jebediah Cates, actually piloted one of our Southern balloons during the "Seven Days" campaign.
