Illinois’s nuclear “bailout” keeps giving people money back on their electricity bills
Does it still count as a bailout when nuclear ends up doing the bailing out?
@moms4nuclear I also served on a nuclear sub for several years. My bunk was about 35 feet from the reactor. Great experience. I’m in my late 70s, and very healthy. A few of my shipmates are in their 80s. Nuclear is a great technology — very effective and clean.
@Ember421 One option: return to the system that once worked. State-regulated vertically integrated investor-owned public utilities. Maybe not the best, but far better than today’s fake wholesale markets. 1-800-where is my electricity?!
@energybants@skdh 8 of the 11 reactors on Japan’s NE coast were not crippled by the quake. Some were damaged, but most suffered no immediate consequences.
